Call your child's doctor and ask if you can give your baby some infant tylenol for the fever. Keep your baby in just a diaper to keep the temp down. If the fever doesn't go away with the tylenol, then you should take a trip to the doctor.

It could but you should still try and get the baby into the doctor, this could be an infection and when children's temps get up into like the 104 area it is an emergency, if you don't get their temp down it can cause febrile seizures, due to the strain on the brain.
I have to disagree on a few points made above 105-106 isn't okay for a child!
Also teething can cause a fever who ever said it didn't has never had kids, or has no medical background to be answering this question.

That's kinda high for teething. I would call your doctor and see what he thinks. He knows your baby more than we do. Many babies get a temperature when they teethe, but it usually doesn't get above 101, which is still a little high for a baby. Any temperature above normal is a sign that something isn't right. Sometimes their temperatures go up after a booster shot too. Keep close watch on your little one. Don't pile lots of blankets on him and don't dress him in warm clothing. By doing that, it retains the heat of his temperature, making it go higher. See if your doctor recommends a fever reducer or cool baths. It's best to check with your doctor concerning these things, because he might want to see him and find out if it's an ear infection or just teeth. It's better to be safe than sorry. And it will comfort your fears. <*)))><

If your baby has 103 temp you should proabably call the doctor. Someone told me that temp's were b/c of teething but when i talked to my doctor she said she proably had a small virus and if the temp got to 103 to call and make an appointment, just keep a close watch.

My kids doctor told me that 101 was generally what they would run. I would try keeping it from getting any higher then the 103 and you might want to call the Dr. It sounds more like a viral infection of something, not teething.

My baby had 104 temp when her molars came out. 103 and 104 are very high. make sure you keep the temp down. my baby had a seizure because of her high temp. it's very scary. with a fever that high, I would call the Dr. ASAP.

Yes, we are foster parents for a young bot who keeps getting sent home from daycare due to fever.... he has lots of teeth :) and a cute smile. His fever got close to 103... I'd give the kid som INFANT tylenol... if that doesn't work after a few hours call a doc...
the fever may be due to the tooth... but it's still a bad fever.... lots of fluids too...

I really hope you don't have a child with a 103 degree temperature, and you're wasting time logging into Yahoo and asking this question instead of bringing your child to the doctor.
And if you already brought your child to the doctor, but didn't ask that question, why don't you call him and ask?

103 is pretty high for teething, but my sisters kid once got to 104 while teething so if it gets to 105, thats dangerous
