Yes. There are four types of child abuse:
Neglect - failure to provide for a child’s basic needs (physical, educational, medical, and emotional).
Physical - physical injury due to punching, beating, kicking, biting, burning, shaking, or otherwise harming a child.
Sexual - includes fondling a child’s genitals, incest, penetration, rape, sodomy, indecent exposure, and commercial exploitation through prostitution or the production of pornographic materials.
Emotional - any pattern of behavior that harms a child's emotional development or sense of self-worth. It includes frequent belittling, rejection, threats, and withholding of love and support.
Hope this helps. Never heard of one that starts with a "V".

Yes, neglect is one, but it's hard to do anything about. I called social services on someone for that but was told they had to "hurt" one of their children first before they could remove them from the home. It's sad. These kids were not getting baths, they were roaming the streets half naked (toddlers). They had to walk over piles of dirty laundry and dogsh!t to get around the house. They had to get their own food, whatever they could grab from a pantry, all this while their mother slept or locked herself in her room to keep from dealing with them. That wasn't enough!!! Several neighbors called as well, and nothing was done to this person. (I eventually hired a lawyer and went through courts myself to get custody of these kids)

One form of abuse is not sending them to school to learn how to read and write (which includes spelling).
