Should I belt out famous operas at the top of my lungs to giver her a hint?

Or should I request horrible 80's music?

Act like you love it, then say hey speaking of music let me show you what I like to listen to, then turn it to a cool station and turn it down yourself.

The best way is to show her that there is problem by that loud sound. You can start with talking in a low tone, so that she turns volume low to hear you and if its still high, ask "what?" everytime she says something and that should solve the problem. if neither of them works out, say politely that we can understand each other better with a low volume. If she still continues,
complain that you are getting headache now. if she still doesn't bother, may be she is not your friend. just you are going around her unneccessarily and she is trying to shoo yo away !

Just tell her you're going to walk to McDonalds for a McFlurry, ask her if she wants one and hope when you get back she's lowered the music.

Or.. you could just tell her you have a headache and the loud music is making it worse.. or you could just tell her you're having a hard time understanding what she's saying because of the volume of the music.

Best bet is the McDonald's though. (=

Just ask her politely "please turn the music down". That should work just fine. If it doesn't then try belting out opera at the top of your lungs.

If she is a friend, you can tell her directly. Actually, if she is a friend she'll know to begin with how loud you like your music.

You could try simply asking her but if it's to loud you could use your wiggling of the eyebrows and nose and the hands if you would like. LOL

Pretend that you can't hear her in conversation. If she says something say I can't hear you the music is too loud.

Talk to her in "sign language" and make strange gestures and contortions. Maybe she will think it's funny and take the hint.

I have a friend who also does this, just keep asking,"What?" everytime she talks to you, and apologize and say you just can't hear her over the music.
