Your post makes perfect sense, but you won't get any religious person to admit that THEIR religion is intolerant. They believe that all other religions are intolerant, but not theirs.
No religion can claim to be tolerant if it has a commandment that says anything about how their religion or god is the ONLY valid religion or god. Explicit in that statement is that everyone else is wrong and that their god(s) don't exist.... that is intolerance.
There are exceptions to intolerant religions (e.g., Buddhism, Wicca) which do not attempt to say that all other religions are false. However, they're not the dominant religions in western society.
the dominant religions here start their intolerance with Commandment 1, which in a nutshell says "We're right, everyone else is wrong. Case closed" You can't believe in that commandment and also claim to be tolerant. They're mutually exclusive concepts.

Go to Girl,
Sad, yes, surprising? No. Unfortunately, the religions of man, have largely taken the place of relationship with God. Those who have entered into an eternal, bonding love with God's Spirit, have no place in their lives for intolerance. They are too busy, sharing the message of God's abiding Love. God doesn't have any churches, or denominations, He has children. His Children, have only Love, for their brothers, and sisters on the Earth.

It is the moral values of the policy makers that influence the quality of the policy. How can you exclude religion without compromizing values? Intolerance has always been around as we all arrogantly assume our beliefs are the only truth.

YES! Each and every one of us can do something about intolerance in their environment...one situation at a time, one person at a time. Peace begins with me and you and you and you.....etc.

I disagree. Jesus said feed the poor. We must not tolerate anyone who doesn't want to feed the poor.
