I know that before a species is classified there is usually another local name for it. Can anyone help me?

I'm looking for what the locals would call it. Not for the scientific name. Thanks.

There are dozens of different native languages spoken in the spider monkey's range. Do you have a particular one in mind? They all have different words for "spider monkey"

EDIT: Well, then, the Portuguese name isn't the native name. It's the invaders' name. I don't have a Portuguese dictionary, sorry.
