I know it's very generalized to just say Christians. Maybe more specifically I should say evangelical or fundamentalist Christians.

I would like to hear opinions on this. Would you be happy if creationism completely supplanted evolutionism in public schools? If prayer in schools was mandatory? If all our elected officials had to consult with a pastor or priest before enacting legislation? If all judges had to have a degree in theology? Maybe even if everyone was forced to go to church a certain number of times a month?

I'm SO glad you corrected your generalization...:) My ULTIMATE goal is getting to Heaven. As far as all the stuff you mentioned...it doesn't apply. I DO NOT think religion should be taught in our schools. That is something that is taught in the home. I don't believe religion and politics should mix. I would not want a judge with a degree in theology to decide my fate. And I haven't been to church since 1990.

Maybe you should send this question to Pat Robertson...

Generally: to love God w/ all their heart, mind, soul and strength. And, to love neighbors as yourself.

That latter is sticky. If Christians are right, isn't it loving to warn others if dire consequences? It does follow logically.

To your specific questions: Creationism/Evolution. I just want facts. Evolutionary theory is bad science (and I am a scientist). Ken Hamm's version of creation isn't better. I want the free market of ideas, w/ support for their strenghts and weaknesses.

Mandatory prayer in schools? No. It's an insult to God to try to force someone to pray to him. However, there is an assault on Christians by schools: no Bibles, no references to their belief system, no after school meetings...Those are just as big a problem.

Officials consulting w/ Christian leaders? No, but I'd like to believe they'd consult their constituents.

Judges knowing theology? Heck, I'd be glad if they knew a little logic. Seriously. History wouldn't hurt either. But if they did know theology, is that so bad? Has anyone actually READ the 1st ammendment?

Forced church? C'mon. But, why are people so opposed to Christians homeschooling? Why do THEY want to FORCE kids to go to public schools? Hmmmm

Just pointing out the flip-side to your concerns.

I think the goal of all Children of God should be to stay in complete surrender to the Holy spirit to use in anyway He chooses. I think that too many plans are made by people claiming to be doing the work of God, only to really be doing the work of keeping big business together and God is not really running the show. Probably started out on a vision from God, but then becoming an obsession of the so called evangelist. God has it all under control and yes, if He want to He will build a Taj Mahal, to save one person from eternally being lost, but sometimes the goal gets lost in the process. The ultimate dead giveaway is when anything else but salvation it's self is the motivatin factor. yes God knows how much everything cost and He has no overdrafts in His checkbook. He also does not drive a Brinks Truck to deliver money to the huge organizations that stand in the name of Jesus, but when you hear a two hour multi-million dollar plea, without one mentioning salvation, then I have a problem with the sincerity of the the mission.
I can beat my brains out chasing causes, but if my goal is not to get someone saved I should be questioning my own motivation. The only answer to abortion is salvation. The only answer to hunger is salvation and on and on. You have an enemy, get him saved. Sure, we need to keep in mind that our Lord is a Lord of circumstances, and He allows darkness to drive people into the light, but the bottome line is, if they do not meet Jesus they are still in the dark.
The only answer to any of Planet Earth's problems is SALVATION. If this is not the goal then there is no goal, it is a game.

The ultimate goal is to live a life pleasing to God, a Christ-like life.

As to the other list of questions, in order:

1. I want to see evolution taught for what it is, a theory,
and the evidence for Creation taught fairly beside it.

2. No. But neither do I like to see it ostracized on spurious
grounds of a false interpretation of separation of church and
state.

3. No.

4. No. But I think we have some serious problems with
our judicial system--judges are now making law, which
is stepping over their bounds in my opinion.

5. And no, everyone shouldn't be forced to go to church,
but I feel children should be under their parents' authority
in this matter.

I suggest you read a book called "Men In Black", about our Supreme Court system. It is an eye opener.

What, by the way, is your ultimte goal in this country?

Is to share the good news of the gospel with the lost/unsaved/nonbelievers ---
Both creationism and evolution were taught in schools (when I was attending) ---- now that isn't the case everywhere --- evolution is the main topic and when creationism is brooched the student is rediculed --- now that's not fair. Organized prayer in school is what is outlawed - but no one stopped me from praying or carrying my bible --- I didn't do preaching in school - when I had free time I read scriptures and did prayers - no one complained or forbid it.
Not one scripture in the bible states that people are to be forced to believe or attend church --- you have free will to do what you will-----
It is no great mystery to me that non believers don't uphold biblical teaching or pray to God for instruction/guidance....that would be contrary to their nature ---

So you mean the ultimate POLITICAL goal, because I agree with the other answer that says the ultimate goal of any kind is to go to heaven.
I think most Christians in the US agree with the constitutional limits on the things you mention. The country was founded by people fleeing Europe BECAUSE all those things were happening.

Our goal is the goal of Christians everywhere, to tell all peoples about Jesus and to nurture those who come to Him.

On a secular scale, we want freedom to be able to do this. We want everyone to be free from religious coercion, in the schools, in the courts, and everywhere, so that they can accept the truth in liberty.

Though we may think others are mistaken about their beliefs, we love them and pray for them as individuals. We know that truth cannot exist in an atmosphere of coercion by anyone, including Christians.

To make a homogeneous group of people. What will they do when the detractors of Christianity have all been put in line? Will they then turn on themselves? Of course they will...one will have some bright idea that is better than the next person.

outstanding homework. I want Stephen Hawkings theory of the structure of the universe, yet anywho. i have under no circumstances been a huge fan of Islam, because it may conflict/corrupt westernised subculture, and would not continually enable freedom of speech. i have were given no longer some thing antagonistic to them, and many are smart, only i imagine that it unbroadens the options, and they ought to have a good time with different ideologies of alternative religions (many do). i'm no longer fairly confident a thanks to respond to this question, so i presumed i'd only write my element of view in route of Islam (and that i'm hoping that noone is indignant by using it).

The goal is to spread the gospel and to bring others to the Lord. Unfortunately, some have the sole goal of filling their pews.
