Sometimes don't you get the feeling that religion is just an elaborate scheme to build armies to seize the land and property that belong to someone else? Upfront guys like Hitler don't hide behind a show of piety, but the slippery ones do.

One would think that all religions would be right but there are some out there who think that what they believe is the only one. It is sad that people don't respect all religions and can't find it in themselves to accept the differences in beliefs.
I'm not really sure why there are holy wars. The only thing that I can think of is what I stated in the first sentence (some people believing that their religion is the only religion). If you have a place of worship I would talk with a leader (pastor, preacher, rabbi, nun, etc.).

Underpressure,
Before we can talk about worship of God, we must accurately describe what it truly is. If you study the meanings of the original languages in the scriptures (I have), you find a new meaning of "worship". Worshiping God, is not about how you conduct your individual religious rituals. God couldn't care less about these things, and says so in the first chapter of Isaiah. In fact, He says they make Him sick. True worship of God, consists of knowing that He is the most valuable and important thing in the Universe, and placing Him above all things in your heart. The real proof of true worship, is when you conform your will, to His. Truly loving God, and appreciating all of the magnificent qualities He has, is worship. If you think about how some folks "worship" celebrities, you start to get the idea. They don't have an altar(hopefully!), or perform any rituals, but the sun rises and sets upon the one they worship, and they revere them above all else. When you really get to know God personally, worship just kind of comes naturally, as you bask in the Glory of His goodness and love. All of that religious ritual, wont add up to a hill of beans in Eternity.

Because in some religious "worship" has taken the form of human sacrifices. There are religions today that worship by using drugs and alcohol. There are groups (like in DiVinci Code) that use sex as a "worship". There are paramilitary religions that "worship" using guns and other weapons. There are fanatics that "worship" by blowing themselves and dozens of innocent people up.
It does make a difference how we worship God.

Because there is. If I tell you that Christianity tells the right way to worship, our Muslim brothers would not agree. This is a difficult issue BECAUSE religion is also interrelated with CULTURE. That is why it is dangerous to assume that there is no right way to worship The Lord, because assuming that there really is, then it is our job to FIGURE IT OUT, excluding warfare. I mean, my Church is currently working with Muslims and it was recently discovered that Islam and Christianity have a lot in common. Yet it is hard to bridge the two Major Faiths because of CULTURE.

We wouldn't have been given the bible if it didn't matter. Some people look for a religion that suits their own beliefs, where others see that God will only accept certain worship. People try to make requirements of what they think God should be, when they don't even realize that God has his own requirements for us.

You are absolutely right, no matter how or what way one should worship of God, either you bend your knees or head no makes any difference. God is Creator of whole universe so obviously he must have created me, you and all of us. You can't say this my God true and this one yours is false. Because we all and hole universe is created by him. God makes no difference in Christians, Muslims or Hindus. He make only difference in good human and bad man, devil. Even as I am Indian Hindu I do pray Jesus also. I personally make no more difference in my God and Jesus. Because we believe that Jesus was son or man of the God. So we respect him. Our cultures, traditions, our beliefs and life style may be differ but our motto, aim or object should be same that is GOD, to worship of GOD and keep ourselves away from sin.

Each question has a premise (assumption) on which it is built. The one here is 'god's will that we are on earth to worship him'. Where does this premise come from, how valid is it and on what authority would we listen to whoever suggested the premise? We are here on earth to give love, receive love and through the lesson learn.
Anything else is window dressing.

It makes no difference to God how we worship God but it makes a difference to us. Therefore God commanded things because they are good for us to do like following the Holy Days of God in Leviticus 23, eating kosher food, meditating, etc.
