Isaiah was a prophet, Ezra was a priest, Matthew was a tax-collector, John was a fisherman, Paul was a tentmaker, Moses was a shepherd.
Okay a prophet is synonymous with predicting and seeing the future, so basiaclly that's a psychic hotline person.
A priest spends all day long praying to imaginary people.
A tax-collector will say anything as long as he gets your money.
A fisherman? I have a hard time believing they were the most educated person back then.
A tentmaker? See above.
And a shepherd. Unless the shepherd is teaching me how to move sheep around, I don't think I'd trust his knowledge on any other subject.

There is no such thing as God. These are normal people writing things. Quit hiding behind your god.

Roy... Some of our founding fathers were uneducated or self-educated. Yet there were many such as Jefferson and Adams who were VERY well educated in fact, lawyers, who guided those uneducated ones. You don't think Washington made all the decisions himself do you? He was a figurehead that everyone knew, that's why he was our first president. Jefferson, Adams, and etc. were the real ones making the decisions early on.

A prophet by DEFINITION is one who utters divinely inspired revelations.. not someone who see's into the future
What you call divinely inspired revelations I am sure Miss Cleo did too.

To me the point is if Christians had actually known those people in real life, they wouldn't have believed their stories in a million years. They would have recognized them as just ordinary people, not divinely inspired or holy, and written them off as delusional or con artists or just liars.

God used these humble people as proof that he really wrote the Bible through these men. If God is imaginary then why is the Bible still around? If these guys were so selfish then why spread the word? If a fisherman and a tentmaker could write the Bible and you can't even come up with a good question - doesn't that tell you that they were at least inspired by a higher source - that they couldn't have come up with all that stuff on their own? And Moses was a leader of his time, who better to lead a people than someone humble who had practice leading?

Look up info on the requirements for books to be considered books of the bible... THere are all sorts of rules and regs to be met before a book is accepted as an accurate account.
a few examples:
1. Other documents supporting the writings
2. Must be first hand
and many many more.
As for the occupations of these people...
1: A prophet by DEFINITION is one who utters divinely inspired revelations.. not someone who see's into the future
A priest spends all day long praying to someone who believes in you
A tax-collector doesn't mean he's dishonest... i know a few good lawers too
as for the Fishermen and the Tent maker not being the most educated persons of their time... what exactly do you do for a living? Just curious...

Never forget that the writings of these people have been changed so much over the years as to make it utterly unrecognizable.
The oldest surviving copy of the Old Testament resides in the British museum. It is called the "Sinai Bible" those who study it say that there are a staggering 15000 differences between it and the closest modern translation.
And that's just the OT, never mind the NT.
It's mythology, nothing more. People pay WAYYY too much attention to it.

The validity of the Bible has been proved time and again by historical and archaeological findings. Why do people continue to close a blind eye to this?
The Bible was given as inspiration to these men by the Holy Spirit of God.
And I would trust His knowledge on ANY subject!

Also, Jesus was a Carpenter by trade.
God chooses the normal people to confound the wise scholars. Scholars always think they should be on the cutting edge of anything.
I would rather sit and listen to a born again, filled with the spirit common man, than a scholarly, well read person.

Your logic doesn't work. Many uneducated people have become very influential in our society. Some of our founding fathers were uneducated or self-educated. Also, you must realize that people can change when they find God. Additionally, Moses grew up in the court of the Egyptian pharaoh and was probably very well educated.

The bible is a book of inspiration and faith. If one chooses to believe it as factual, so be it. If one chooses to discredit it, so be it.
Faith is an aspect that cannot be scientifically measured, nor should it be ridiculed. Faith is a choice of an indavidual.
If I choose to believe that the television show Baywatch is factuall, that is my choice, If I choose to think that Peanut Butter Cookies are really a Keebler Elven Secret, then that is what occurs in my universe.
I choose not to anger, and I will accept whatever anger is directed at me. This is called Passive Peace.
Its not just a good idea,,,,,,,

You must add the one thing missing in all your evaluation (such as they are) and that is an experience with a living God. Whether it be the in the old testament, new testament, or today, a personal experience with the living God changes a person forever.

How valid are the writings of the following bible authors?
Think of that! They, according to you greedy, ignorant, and delusional people that put this book together with separate writings done over a span of time in vastly different places, who ended up changing the face of the world.
And what are you doing?
Proving your ignorance about it under the imagination that those that know something about it might think that you know what your talking about?
Do you even have a job?
