I've been seeing a guy lately who is quite shy, and a few months back got pretty messed up by an ex. When I started seeing him he warned me that because of that he's wary of relationships so will be timid.
Things seemed to be going great until recently. He's been acting as if he's lost interest, I asked him if that was the case and he said no just shy. But now its almost like avoidence.
If this is him just being shy should I give him some space and then try again in a few days or call him on it?
Does it even seem like that's what it is to all of you?

about backing off AFTER being timid. He's still be very timid the whole time.. me making all the moves. We've only been together about a month.
I asked him the other day if he wasn't interested in me yesterday - he's brutally honest.

a little advice from a shy, kinda reserved,30ish guy, let him have his space, that dont mean not to call him,not every day,let him work thru the things in his head that are making him distanced from you, and probably others, if he truly digs you he will make an effort to come around, time is the test, not the waiting,,, hope this helps ya.

Find out what kind of relationships hes been in in the past. If there were a lot of them and they were fairly short, hes not interested. He may still be pretty hurt by his last relationship so go out on a limb before you get too attached and let him know what you want. Then go from there one way or another.

Your question implies he's withdrawn SINCE his initial coam of him being "timid."
If he has backed off, then being "shy" is not the cause. Something else is at play here -- unfortunately, it may be he's not interested anymore. Be careful.
