When you have an older dog, how do you keep them from eating the puppys food? I am afraid when I turn my head...my older boxer will come gobble up the little guys food...lol

Feed the pup a high quality adult food (25-26% protein). Puppy food is nothing more than an advertising gimmick and is to 'hot' for many breeds and can cause structural problems. Watch your pups develpment closely if you insist on using a puppy food. If it is to rich it will usually show in upright or even knuckled over pasterns. The opposite is also true, if you are feeding to low protein it will result in weak pasterns.

feed them a seperate times, and keeps the adult in another room until the puppy is finished until he gets the picture.

keep their food dishes seperate. we had to do that because we had two dogs, both older tho, but one had kidney problems and the vet put her on a string bean diet. yup, string beans. so the other one always wanted to eat her food. we ended up putting one dish in front of the fridge (sting bean pup's), and the other on the other side of the kitchen's island so she couldnt even see when the other was eating. we still had to watch a lot, but at least it gave each other a chance to eat in peace for a few minutes
