As long as you take care of yourself - you care about your clothes, hair, and makeup, and are not a slob or over-coiffed weirdo, then you probably look great.
But even more important is who you are inside. If you're friendly, have a good sense of humor and are nice to people around you, then you are a much more attractive person than anyone who might be 10 pounds lighter but are rude or dull.
And whoever it was who was mean falls in that latter, ugly category, as far as I'm concerned!
