60-65 days is the canine gestational norm. You shouldn't have to do anything out of the ordinary, except have her checked by a vet. I put my dog on puppy chow when she was pregnant. There's alot of extra nutrients & vitamins in puppy food that are advantageous to a pregnant female. Dogs are very self-sufficient when it comes to pregnancy & delivery. You may have to help her & show her what to do with the first puppy when she's whelping, but after that, she should be fine. Most times, their instincts kick right in & they don't need any help, but it's best to keep an eye on her. Also, be careful after the puppies are born. The sweetest, friendliest dog will become a vicious proctector of her newborn pups!

9 weeks give or take a day or two....
Spell ck is not working...sorry for the misspellings!
Question? do you know who the father is?(is she a small dog bred to a bigger male that can produce large puppies...like a german shepherd?)
Mom should be fine as long as the puppies are not to big....if you do not know the father, call your vet and tell them around the time she is due...if she has problems (stuck puppy or HARD labor for more than 3-4 hrs without a puppy being born) the vet will be ready. (had schn that labored for 3 hrs and had emergancy c-section after hrs at our vet because we called first...9 puppies).
Breach puppies ok, mom can still deliver! Don't pull on a breach puppy unless it is hanging out all the way except the head....let her push 3or 4 times to get it out on her own...if she does not, gently pull with the contractions only!
Make sure, with every puppy, that the afterbirth comes out....let mom eat a couple (I know it is gross, but it stems contractions and milk production)....if she has a large litter, let her eat 3 or 4...more than that, she will get sick....let mom clean the puppies. This is a bonding time...when she stops licking them, you can pick them up and towel dry them...be careful, mom may be possessive of the pups and you may get nipped....get a heating pad and set it on medium and put a fluffy towel on it to warm....keep it close to mom so the puppies can nurse (keep the puppies warm...I lost 3 puppies to cold...not fun)....let the puppies nurse as they are born...this also stems contraction.....don't be a coach...."come on push" is for humans....be quite....let nature take its cource.....watch for a black or green discharge...red or dark brown (blood) is common, but black or green could mean problems....take mom and puppies to the vet about 24 to 48 hrs after birth to have them checked out even if she has normal discharge....If breed to have tails and dewclaws removed, you can do this at the same time.
Also....don't let mom chew the cords too close!....if she leaves them longer than 1/2 in....use kid scissors (the kind that hardly cut paper) and cut it shorter (no shorter than 1/2 in)...the cords are hard to cut, but don't use sharp scissors...have some sewing thread (soak in alochol) ready to tie off the cords if need be (only if still bleeding).
Good luck with the new babies

60-65 days. In my experience, the pups will come out early (heathly)as much as a week before due date. If your female dog is in good shape, there is nothing much you need to do. She will bite off evrything she needs to bite off, and start nursing. If she shows sign of pain and difficulty in giving birth, call vet hospital ASAP.(Of course your should have your regular vet's nubmer ready too)What you need to do now is to build her a "baby box". It should big enough for the mom and pups to be in. height of the box should be something that allows mom to jump in and out, and enough to keep the pups inside. Try to give the mom some space and privacy when she gives birth. One of my dog kept the last baby inside her as much as 4 hours because I was staring at her.

The Gestation period for dogs is 9 Weeks... and provide the mother a nice comfy place... and get some towers and cleaner... it gets messy.
Otherwise, the Mom can handle it herself...
Good Luck!
