I love how christians here, who believe in an invisible man in the sky who is 3 people in one, that contrary to all available evidence 'god' *poofed* the world out of nothingness, and that women can get preggers without having sex are scoffing at someone else' beliefs. That's RICH!
Oh, and to the idiots who are saying that you're worshipping the devil, they need to get a freaking education. Witchcraft (Wicca) in no way worships the devil. In fact, Wiccans DONT BELIEVE IN THE DEVIL. They find the idea of an invisible boogeyman that you can use to blame everything on to be incredibly juvenile.
It was the Catholic Church, who, threatened by rival religions, that began a propaganda campaign based on lies to say that pagan religions worhsip the devil Not only was it based on lies, it was also based on VIOLENCE. Thousands were killed because of these lies.
And for those who act like they're christian, but not Catholic, so they can wash their hands of the whole thing, guess again. If you're a christian of any type, your religious heritiage goes back through Catholicism. Anyone who tried to say that their christianity has nothing to do with the catholic church back then needs to take a religious history lesson very badly. The point is that you don't get to re-name your church and pretend like it had nothing to do with nasty sh1t that it was involved in years ago.
Anyway, Wiccan's prime commandment is "an it harm none, do what thou wilt" or in other words, do what you want, but don't ever harm anyone. The religion is far, far from preaching anything evil. Only the brainwashed, uneducated, and ignorant would suggest otherwise.

I have a young friend in Colorado that started reading witchcraft book and hanging out with Gothic types and people into satan worship about 5 years ago. He even went as far as becoming a self proclaimed satanic priest. It was all fun and games when it started and he made many friends and even created a sub-culture family. That was then and this is not; He is now being haunted by every demon spirit in the Universe. The problem is that all of the spirits that he used to play with have turned on him and he is going insane because his pride will not let him accept the TRUTH, even in the midst of the turmoil. He takes drugs to sleep because he cannot sleep without them.He takes more and more and is stealing to buy them. They are not working anymore. He has nightmares and is constantly being tortured in his mind by the thoughts that he cannot control. Yes it all started as a game but it is a game no more. Please beware of the things you choose as playmates, playthings and playgrounds. There will come a day when you realize that choices are not always fruitful in a positive way.
If that happens there is an answer and His name is Jesus. Just call out and He will come and lead you to real happiness.

Realize the difference between Hollywood and reality. Magick is simply the gathering and focusing of energy toward a specific purpose...but that doesn't mean you burn some incense, chant some words, and your wishes will come true...it means you also do every mundane thing possible to attain what it is you desire.
Canned spells often aren't worth the paper they are printed on...don't get sucked into those wanting to make money off the gullible...do your work, read various witchcraft and pagan website forums and learn from those who've walked the path a while...
Good luck...

You people with you Jesus loves you and your going to burn in hell are so annoying. Can you please tell me what is wrong with reading about other religions? I think its good when people open there eyes to the world around them. Your way is not the only way and it is only you that says it is the right way. The simple truth is that no one knows for fact, and I for one believe that it is better to be well informed with knowledge from all source than to be simple and close minded. Religion is based your locality. Through history we learn that religion has progressed or evolved though out time. One religion was derived for the next, becoming more complex and controlling as time went on. For example, Christianity was derived from Paganism (please don't argue, this is a fact). You celebrate Christmas, not because it was your savior Jesus Christs' birthday, but because this was the date of the winter solstice. They figured the best way to get people to change their religion was to keep the dates of their celebrations the same. Jesus was born in March.
I would suggest if you liked reading your witch craft book, that you pick up more books on other religions and even science Open up your world, and form your own opinions on what really makes this world go round. Don't settle for one answer, this world is far to complex to be made up by simplicity.

Wow, okay, I think you bought the wrong book. Is it by Scott Cunningham or by Silver Ravenwolf? Witchcraft is not about being possessed by spirits or cursing anyone or any stupid crap like that. It is about being intune with nature and the energy around you and using that to make things happen, not appear and be crazy. You have the wrong book, honey. Try again.

Only thing that I was successful with was turning my eyes blue for a minute...and they are brown! If anything works for ya then more power to ya...just use it for GOOD though otherwise it'll come back at you!!!!!
