I have dark brown hair that i usually dye an even darker brown, but i am thinking of going blonde. a while ago, i had it dyed blonde and i liked it except the color was sort of brassy. I would rather have that lighter, whiter color blonde, not the brassy color. The lady who did my hair for me had to put (i think it was) paroxide in my hair twice to get it to lighten. Could it be that my hair won't go that really light blonde or do i need a new colorist?

Your colorist is probably fine. You say you've been dyeing your hair, so your hair is already damaged, whether it seems to be or not. (I've been highlighting mine since my son was born and it darkened, 5 years.) Trying to go that much lighter won't happen overnight to get it the perfect color that you want. It will probably take several trips to the parlor gradually lightening, before you see the results you want. Maybe you should consider talking to your colorist about what light color would look best on you without having to destroy your hair with repeat bleaching.

The reason you hair is a little brassy because of the underlying colour that you had on your hair before (the dark brown) the best thing when going from brown to blonde is to be patient it may take a while. if you dont like the brassy colour go back and ask her to tone it down using an ash based colour or purple shampoo as it will counteract the brassy colour your hair is producing. I dont think you need a new colourist but I think that you need one who knows a bit more and can give you advice as to what to do maby someone with more experience. Also you have to understand that going blonde to an extreme where its white is extremly damaging on the hair and you will need to do lots of treatments. I hope this was of help :)

It is difficult to go from dark brown to blonde without the brassy, but it can be done. You need a new colorist.

If it is that much work to go blonde, you obviously are not meant to be one. Your hair sounds like it is too dark to be a really good shade of blonde; so without a lot of time, money and conditioners, I would maybe just highlight with lighter browns and leave it at that. Brunettes can be very beautiful don't forget.

in case your coloration is fading out that quickly, you're possibly utilising a semi everlasting coloration or demi everlasting coloration. you may try what's termed everlasting coloration, which wont fade yet will improve out jointly with your hair, so each and every 4-8 weeks youd only ought to get a retouch. I reccommend going to a salon and having it performed professional quite than procuring shop offered coloration. also, i'd draw back from thoroughly black, as quickly because it everlasting black its very not easy to get the different coloration, which include brown. desire this enables!

I think it could be that your hair won't go that really light shade of blonde. I hope you also consider the complexion of your skin to make sure the blond hair will suit you.

Your natural hair color is the best....turns brighter in the sun...turns darker in the night...no better choice really...but it's your decision!
