You would think they would all have some other form of divine communication. Does this imply that everything goesback to an original religion?

I know not all religions have prayer, and the forms of prayers are different.

Although the rituals are different, there are indeed similarities in prayer in all the world's religions. All of them entail asking for insight and/or help from one or more god figures and/or ancestral spirits.

As a spiritual medium, I've channeled many different types of discarnates. Telepathy is the universal language of Spirit and prayer is the main way that people use to address those on the Other Side.

In my opinion, most of the religions which makes sense ( I mean there are people who think satanism is a religion ) might (!) have been real. But as the time passed by , people tried to change the
essentials of the original religions. Maybe for political, social or some other reason... Thus the religions got corrupted.
But keep in mind that, the rules and essentials, "which also involve praying" is always to become a perfect person...
U can never tell a perfect person by words.
U can never understand the meaning of perfect person by mind.
U can never decide who is a perfect person and who is not
by only your heart.
U have got to use all.
And this implies that U cannot get to perfect person via internet :)
But somehow, if u find him/her, u will comprehend what and to whom and for what reason a prayer is.
Briefly my answer to your question is;
Yes and No
if u think a while u will c what i mean,
if u cant that means u dont deserve to....

By the way please excuse me for my poor english :)

I think that the common aspect of prayer is that it provides a direct communication with the individual and their higher power. I think that some of the differences are in the way people pray, whether it's a silent, private prayer or whether it's a group prayer. It makes sense that this would be a common form of worship.

But I can see how it's possible that all religions could have been derived from an original religion.

No matter how many religions, ethnic rituals, or types of praying books we create - all this goes back to an original form of creation. If you look at various bibles all of them contain more or less same information with some modification. However, in my opinion there is one religion for all since all were created by one creator. It's just that as the world evolved so did the people As people got separated into different cultures and nations their beliefs gradually adopted the customs and attitudes of the prevailing culture.

I doubt that an "original" religion can be found. I believe it is inherent in the human psyche to try to comprehend the greater forces around us and to bargain with some higher power for better, more fortunate circumstances. For most mainstream churches prayer is characterized by a reflection upon a higher power and seeking to understand its intentions and to live the right life.

Not all religious/spiritual groups apply "prayer" in the same way. No simple answer here can accurately represent them all. As a Quaker I properly use prayerful silence so as to be able to listen beyond the noise of my worries from daily life.

They haven't/don't all involve speaking or thinking thoughts to a deity/deities.

Some alternate methods of communicating with deities or trying to interpret messages from deities include:

Dance. Blood, harvest or symbolic sacrifice. Divination through objects. Astrology. Divination through elements. Divination through nature. Meditation. Artwork. Dream interpretation. Etc.

If all human beings are different, how come we pretty much all have two eyes, ears, a nose, two arms, legs and feet?

If all cars are different, why do they all have four wheels and an engine and brakes?

"Religion" all has the same function, just with a different variation with getting there.

you might have been on to something if all religions had the SAME prayers ..........many religions do not pray in the same way.... you cant tell me a Christian prays to God the same way a Buddhist would pray to Buddha..... many religions have all sorts of different ceremonies for praying as well

It shows that all religions come from God. Praying is when you talk to God. Meditation is when God speaks to you and you are still and listen. There should be a dialog between you and God.
