After being cooped up in a boat for weeks while God was drowning every man, woman, and child on earth, Noah and his clan finally beached and the party started.
And what a party! God told Noah’s clan to be fruitful and multiply and they wasted no time getting the begatting going.
Noah however was the mother of all partiers and eventually passed out from partying too hard.

Later something very curious happens:
(Gen 9:24-25 NRSV) When Noah awoke from his wine and knew what his youngest son had done to him, he said, “Cursed be Canaan; lowest of slaves shall he be to his brothers.”
What did his son do? Noah wakes up and he immediately knows what his son had done to him, and tells his son that because of what he had done to him, he will be the lowest of slaves to his brothers. This not only affects him, but all of his descendants.
What did his son do? What did he do??
Well… here it goes… hang on to your seats. Are you ready?
His son… his son… saw him… he… he… saw him…… naked.

AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Wait a minute. Is that it? Just that?? A son saw earlier cultures. The flood story itself has many similar features to an earlier flood epic from the region that was called “Gilgamesh.” Some think that the drunken Noah story might have originally been closer to a story where the youngest son is trying to prevent the Father from having intercourse with his mother.
How does a son make sure his father doesn’t have intercourse?

I found this information interesting. It was more than likely worse than just "seeing Noah naked"

While Noah was asleep in his tent Ham, and perhaps also his son Canaan, became implicated in some sort of disrespect for Noah. The account reads: “Finally Noah awoke from his wine and got to know what his youngest son had done to him.” Generally Ham is understood to be designated here as Noah’s “youngest son.” However, in the Bible, the expression sometimes refers to a grandson, who, in this case, was Canaan. Whatever the situation, Canaan’s father Ham went telling it to his two brothers instead of himself covering Noah as they did. On learning of the episode, Noah cursed Canaan and blessed Shem’s God Jehovah.—Ge 9:20-27.

The Biblical record does not give any details as to Canaan’s implication in the offense against Noah. Yet some implication seems definitely intended by the fact that, just before relating the case of Noah’s drunkenness, Canaan is abruptly introduced into the account (Ge 9:18) and, in describing Ham’s actions, the record refers to him as “Ham the father of Canaan.” (Ge 9:22)

That the expression “saw his father’s nakedness” may indicate some abuse or perversion that involved Canaan, is a reasonable conclusion. For in most instances incest or other sexual sins are meant when the Bible speaks of ‘laying bare’ or ‘seeing the nakedness’ of another. (Le 18:6-19; 20:17) So, it is possible that Canaan had committed or attempted to commit some abuse on the unconscious Noah and that Ham, though having knowledge of this, failed either to prevent it or to take disciplinary action against the offender, and compounded the wrong by making known to his brothers Noah’s disgrace.

Maybe this is more about an elder being open to judgment. Parents and older members of society never want to be judged and show that they are not worthy.

I read a Australian flood story and it blames the kids for not being worthy. They kill a bird in an awful way and the Gods flooded the area in vengeance. (The children survive though.)

Noah and his family are the most worthy to survive and the first thing that happens is sin. Gilgamesh is 1/2 God and he messes up. This is a great story about our humanity and how we strive for perfection but never really reach it.

Ham slept with his mother. Noah's wife. That's what it means to uncover your father's nakedness.
By the way God told Noah to take one of every flesh. Not only of animals, but, also of every race, humans. God destroyed the fallen angels. This why the flood came about.

The word approximately "the nakedness of his father" meant lots greater advantageous than seeing him slumbering without outfits. His offense grew to become into way greater advantageous than seeing him bare and/or talk or comedian tale irrespectfully approximately it to his brothers. in case you examine Leviticua 20:11: "the guy who lies along with his father’s spouse has uncovered his father’s nakedness; the two one among them shall truthfully be placed to loss of existence. Their blood would be upon them." Then return to Genesis and re-study the financial ruin with new recommendations. Ham offense might had secure raping Noah's spouse. --- curiously Noah knew that Ham may well be greater harm if his son weren't blessed. --- there is not any recommendations approximately Noah being under the effect of alcohol earlier this adventure. the two way, Noah grew to become right into a sinner as anybody else as a results of fact that Adam & Eve. the version grew to become into that Noah asked forgiveness to God and repented from his sins, blunders, and incorrect desicions. God choosed him as a results of fact Noah grew to become into humble and obedient, alongside with via asking forgiveness whilst Noah did not meet the mark.
