Most vegetarians meal or products are prepared especially for vegetarians so that would not have meat products in them. They are marked "Vegan" which means no meat products should be in them. Products like "Boca Burgers" and things like are formulated together like meat but are actually made from things like tofu and/or soybeans. The only thing you really have to watch out for is being sure you intake enough protein and B12 since we get most of our B12 and protein from meat.
One of my favorite vegetarian dishes is tofu lasagna with pepper jack cheese. Good luck and search the internet for recipes. Matter of fact, someone on here already had a question about vegetarian meals and it was a featured question so they got a lot of responses and recipes so you can just search yahoo answers and probably get all the recipes you need.

Now it is very easy to be vegetarian, at least as far as finding substitutions. There are so many prepared soy versions of meat. Morningstar brand is my favorite. (for a good meatless chicken, qorn is great, but hard to find) You can also substiute beans for your protein. There are a lot of great recipes, especially Middle Eastern foods that are completely vegetarian. Or you can just get creative on your own.
As far as animal fat, that is usually listed simply. Just look for the word beef, chicken, etc on the label. A lot of companies will even put "vegetarian friendly" before the list of ingredients. The tricky part comes in if you are going to become vegan and take all animal products out of your diet. Those tend to be hidden well in labels.... and far too many to list. If you would like to check more into it, here is a great site and you can sign up to have them send you a starter kit to being a vegetarian.

The meal of a meat eater has meat as a base, while vegetarians use vegetables as base. Just browse on the internet for recipes, you'll find good ones I'm sure.
As for the animal fats, just read the ingredients on every product you buy, especially cookies, chips, butter. Also, a vegetarian can't eat gelatine and can't eat things containing the additive E120, because that's made out of insects.

There are so many variations. For one, some peope are what they call true vegans who only eat true not animal foods, and some are only partial vegan and still eat things like eggs, milk, fish. As for the contents, I know some packages state right on them that the food was made with no animal products or by products, but mostly I think you might need to find a specialty store. A lot more general stores are making it much easier to find vegan food though.

You can get a lot of recipies for Vegetarian food.
But first you will need to define whether you would consider Egg, Fish and Milk to be OK.
There are Soy based meat substitutes available however they dont come close to taste of meat. So you must realize that your food will no longer taste the same.
You can still prepare a ton of veggie sandwiches, burgers, pasta and tortillas. A lot of Italian, Mexican and Indian foods can be just made with veggies and still taste wonderful.

This site has all kinds of meal ideas and resources:
veganlunchbox.blogspot.com
It is mostly vegan ideas, but you could adapt them to be vegetarian.
It doesn't clearly state animal fat on packages. I think it says something like, gelatin. It's in stuff you would never think of, like marshmallows and a lot of candy.
Good Luck.

Do not be a Vegan. Eat at least some meat. We need meat, for good protien in your body. Don't overeat though. And Vegans eat grass.
