War - hasn't there been war on Earth since Jesus died?

Famine - Hasn't the Earth undergone year after year of famine somewhere.

Destruction - There were hurricanes and tsuamies before George Bush, there have been volcano eruptions that brought about a global freeze between the 1400s and the 1800s

Couldn't I have a "vision with Jesus" and write a book about how theres going to be wars and famine and people are going to try and preach about a false Jesus and there will be sin on Earth, murder, plauge, rape, lies and theft, CAUSE WE KNOW THESE THINGS ARE DAILY.

I don't think theres any crediblity to these Bible prophesies.

The only Bible prophesy I believe, is if I add one number to the page number and turn the page, the page number on the new page would be the same as the result of my equation from the previous page number and adding the number 1.

Isn't there something about a false prophet that leads the people away from God? Do you know anyone like that? Someone that calls themselves a prophet and then tries to convince people that there is no God. Hmmmm. I think I may have met someone like that once. Does that mean that the prophecy is true for me?

It's too bad you've restricted your question to The Book of Revelation. If you made your question a bit wider, you'd get some very enlightening answers.

But, I'll answer the question you posed:

Within this Book, prophecy begins at Revelation 2 and continues through the end. Currently, all the prophesies given in Rev. 2 and 3 have been fulfilled; Rev. 4 is next. Neither war, nor famine, nor destruction are prophesied in Rev. 2-4. Rev. 2-3 deals with the "Church Age," and tells us about the various historical periods the Church will undergo prior to the Rapture (Rev. 4). If you'd like to know why I and many others think Rev. 4 represents the Rapture, you can ask a new question and I'd be happy to answer.

Jesus prophesied that the last period of the Church Age would be represented by the Church of Laodicea; we are presently in this Age and the Church does, indeed, conform to Jesus' description. The Greek word "Leodicea" is actually a pun, meaning "people judged" and "people's opinion."

This Church is described by Jesus at Rev. 3:15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. 17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— 18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent."

There is more to the prophecy, but what I want to focus your attention on here is the description of the Laodicean believers: Jesus accurately predicted that, before the Rapture, His Church would degenerate into lukewarm, spiritually blind and poor followers, who follow their own opinions about His Word, and are naked because they're not covered with the white robe of righteousness; these folks will be judged. Those of us who have been zealous and repented will share in His reward.

No the prophecies have not been fulfilled yet If you live to see them you will know.
The war will be real1/4 of the world population will die, it will bring the breakdown of world economy, which will lead to world famine without money we are left to bartering for food. How many people do you know who can raise their own food. know when to plant harvest what it takes to sustain a family of even 4. We will be reduced to killing one another to survive. Sorry to those who think the human spirit is good and we will all pull together and love one another.1/4 of the population will die. 6 Billion people half dead or dying
Dead bodies bring disease with out the proper infrastructure to rid the bodies and to help the people with diseases small illnesses like the flue can turn into an epidemic.

Lack of sanitation brought by no power in most areas can cause infestations of rats, fleas, etc. which bring on certain plagues. 6 billion people reduced to a few million if that when this is all over, so no you have not seen the prophecies come true yet.

ISA. 13 goes over this day in detail about Gods anger against the nations. He will make man harder to find than gold on the earth.

If you read the NT with an open mind, it's clear that Paul and the very early Christian church expected the end of the world to happen IMMEDIATELY. For the first couple hundred years Christianity expanded apparently solely on the belief that Jesus would be returning "tomorrow", i.e. there was just a narrow window of time for those who wished to be saved. Eventually this "end times" idea trickled down to the occasional hysteria about the end of the world, such as the one that's happening now.

I agree with that. But, there is a new development in Israel and Lebanon. I heard that since they have bombed the crap out of Lebanon, they are now talking about rebuilding the old temple of Solomon, which would really be something for the christians to hold onto as prophecy fulfillment, and an ushering in of the "end times" .
I guess I'll be convinced if people start dissapearing or ascending spontainiously. cheers

Your answer makes me very sad. There are many Bible prophecies that have already come true. This has been proved by many archaeological and historical findings. And yet you discount this. There are many Bible prophecies that are coming true even as we speak! And there are only a few Bible prophecies left to come true, and they all deal with end time events. Not just wars etc.

To a certain extent, I have to agree with you. All of these things have been happening to a more or lesser degree.
My question, is...how did Jesus and His disciples know, 2000 years in advance, that there wouldn't be world peace by now? What made them so sure the world would never learn to share her resources, so that nobody would have to be hungry? How could they know about "natural disasters"?
"End of the world hysteria" has never made any sense.
But then again, neither does complacency.
How about a compromise? We live every day to the best of our abilities, and leave the future to God?

The very first verse states that "which must shortly come to pass". The book was written in highly symbolic language to Christians who were being persecuted at that time. Much of what is spoken of in Revelation has already occurred.

"Whether prophecies, they shall fail": 1Cor 13. Eg: Nineveh; the doom & gloom prophecies of destruction via Jonah in his great fish story failed when "the people believed God (Grace)". Then the no name king (law) disrobed, stepped down, sat in ashes.

It's "allegory" in both "covenants", also "mystery" to solve "in time" lest all perish by law rather than none perish by grace.

Revelation(Uncovering) of John("turned", back to Son of man law "behind" him) is Pauline written as a latter end "worse" (Mt 12:45) case scenario to "avoid"(Rom 16:17); Not some law law Daniel(Son of man: "should repent": Num 23:19) prophecies("night" visions) shall happen or could happen, nor even some law law prophecies which did happen(as Preterists think, being as "law" "law" as "many" deceived by "many").

The "grace" of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Not to argue abou this, but I know where you are comming from, all ways Satan uses the same tecknic to lie to others, and you have become his servant and victim.

I know clear whsta the word of God says, and yes, there have been all this terrible things happening, but never so often as before, one after the other one. Plus the global worming, did they have that many years behind? The tribulation might not happening in our living life, but what for men is 1000 years for God is one day.
" I have just stated that as we approach the end of the age I believe we will see a dramatic recurrence of signs and wonders which will demonstrate the power of God to a skeptical world. Just as the powers of Satan are being unleashed with greater intensity, so I believe God will allow signs and wonders to be performed."

2 Thessalonians 2:9-15

"Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle."

So if you want to be blind and continue be a servant of the darkness, that is your choice, cause I know Satan hates that the word of God be preach to the souls, because he doesn't want to go to hell alone.
