I love to write stories and I'm in the middle of writing one. I'm only 13. I went to www.authorhouse.com and they're going to help me get it published. I'm sure they can help you, too. Goodluck!!!! :-)

That's great. Most 12 year olds can't sit still long enough to finish a book.

First of all, never get discouraged. Keep writing. It's part of who you are and it can comfort you when things get you down.

Go to your library, or local book store, you'll want to look at a book called "The Writer's Market" This book will tell you what publisher or magazine is looking for what. It also tells you if they are taking unsolicited work or not. (unsolicited meaning they take work without requesting it from you or your agent first)

Chances are you will need an agent. You don't pay an agent out of your own pocket, if any ask for money from you, turn them down as fast as you can and get away from them no matter what they say. Real agents make their money from getting a publisher to accept your work.

Also, the first 5 or so publishers will probably turn you down. This doesn't mean your work isn't good, it merely means it's not what they are looking for. Don't let this bother you, it happens to everyone...even the best of writers. Just keep writing and trying.

I also suggest finding an online forum for writers. There are also magazines for people who write and do poetry. There is also a writer's guild. Go to writer's workshops if you can. Talk with other writers. I had the pleasure of talking to P.N. Elrod once. (she published a few vampire novels) She told me pretty much the same thing I'm telling you.

You could maybe also write your favorite author. There may just be a chance they might write back. You never know.

The main thing is, to never give up. Go with small stories sent to magazines, articles, ect. while you're waiting to find someone to publish your book. The more you get your work out there, and published even in magazines, the better well known you will be.

Judging by your blatant misuse of punctuation, I'd say you should have someone proofread and edit your story before you even think of getting it published. In fact, under any circumstance you should have someone else read it beforehand. It probably needs some work- don't jump into publishing too quickly.
