Host- I am slightly confused by the question. First, know your history. During this time, the US was concentrating its forces on Vietnam, leaving very little room for any invasions on the side.
Secondly, the President at the time was LBJ, who was dedicated to the idea of holding Communism to where it already existed.
Thirdly, In response to "Eyes," the US could take out Israel in a few seconds. We have no reason to be scared of them.
Also, the source link expired, and if you are going to use a source try to get one that is not so biased. If the header says, (I'm quoting) "Anti-State Anti-War Pro-Economy," you are probably not only dealing with an unbiased source, but a stupid one also, because if you were to watch the global economy, you would see that when a war happens, the global economy goes up.

I am sorry were you there on the Liberty in 1967? I love it when people not in the military or people not in a time and place get mad about something they only know a little about. My Uncle was killed in Vietnam, should I be mad about that too? No and you know why I was not there, I can not relate. Even after 14 years in the service, I can not fully understand the times,, or what happened. Maybe there was some special cercumstances that were going on during that time. Please note that not everything you read in the internet nor everything you reaad in books are always true. Remember in 1967, when my uncle died, we were still knee deep in Vietnam.

Iraq's missile wasn't the cause of the war.
The USS Liberty was a terrible tradgedy, and I'm not sure I'm ready to forgive yet. Regardless of my personal feelings, Israel claimed it as a mistake (obviously not true, but more than Iraq did) and paid restitutions.
Here's a link to some information you may be interested in. This was released in response to a Freedom of Information Act request. (There's more FOIA information on the Liberty if you search for it.)

cos iraq is the world 3rd largest oil producer, there is everything to gain trying to conquer them, just with one small little excuse, they will use it to attack for their benefit. If you look at past history, the US will usually retaliate only when they have some benefits to gain from.
