You should cut it in half so when you walk in there is the door and a hallway leading to the back room-gym

Is it vented enough to be a gym or will it be stuffy? As for a bar in the basement.... ehhhh... unless you're a teenager on That '70 Show and even then, I have never seen these home bars being used, they just look cool.

If it's that big, make a Media Room with a huge movie projecton screen (for movies or ..superbowl etc) and a bar. It's a show stopper

how often will you use either of the two? I never saw the use of having a bar.....most people dont' use it. When you have a dinner party or something, most poeple congregate near the kitchen. it depends on your lifestyle

I would make into a bar/family room. If you turn it into a weight room it will probably turn into clothes racks.

i am in the same situation, i prefer both but am in the process of a bar, i tried lifting weights and they were to heavy i had to put them down
