My 1.5yr old pit bull mix woke up this morning vomitting and covered in bumps that resembled mosquito bites. She scratches at them but none have broken. She is more lethargic than normal but still was playing with my other dog. Any ideas what she might have?

She has been eating the same food for weeks, so i don't think it's a food reaction. She is going to the vet this morning.

You can get all the speculation in the world from this question/answer forum, but what you need to do is go to the vet. Bring some of the food, the name of the brand of food, and possibly the blanket/pillow the dog sleeps on. The vet will give you a definite answer. Also, be aware of the type of material the toys are made out of.

Some dogs have very fatal reactions to flea and tick bites, it could be this, or there is some other kind of allergy going on get 2 the vet and get the dog checked out cause this can prob. kill the dog since it is lethargic. GO NOW.............

It might be an allergic reaction, considering the bumps. It might be a disease so you have to check with your vet as soon as possible. Maybe he ate something he's not supposed to. I'm not sure but get help for him soon. Good luck.

Your dog should be seen by a vet ASAP! your dog could be having an allergic reaction to anything or it could be scabies mites. scabies can be contagious to humans as well as other pets . I have 3 pit mixes just because they seem to be hardy dogs don't waste time having your vet check things out.

Maybe she ate something she was allergic to. Our dog is allergic to pork, and eggs. The bumps could have been like hives people get when the have an allergic reaction.
