Chevy and General Motors have already begun talks for Toyota to purchase them. Ford is beginning to talk to Nissan about the possibility of a take over.
What are we doing America? How many of us can learn the Asian language? Well, we best be taking lessons soon!
Ford sells out to Nissan, Chevy and GM sells out to Yoyota, and then every vehicle bought and sold in America will be foreign. This will take money beign made by our American owners, which is mostly re-spent in America, out of America and to the Asian countries. More US dollars will be come Asian dollars, leaving more for research and development of new technologies. This will give them the advantage they need to take over the USA. The next thing you know our President will be Hu Jintao or someone simular. Do you think they will hire an interpretor so we can understand more about our new Martial Law?

We need to go to work, and start buying American cars if our government sits back and lets this happen!

You can thank the unions for that one. They demand more and more money for less and less work. Don't blame the companies, they are being blackmailed by the unions. And all of the employees would rather make more money and do less work than look out for the best interest of the company.

If it wasn't for unions we'd all be making minimum wage! I'm not a union worker but my wages are in line with union wages for my type of work. And that can be said for just about any job...or at least it use to be. As for the pensions of GM workers...their pension fund has enough money to pay all current and future pensions. I believe it is 9 billion dollars. And if they manage to dump the obligation onto the pension guaranty , GM get to pocket the 9 billion. But the pensions of the top executives is another story. They are under funded. And a 30 year worker usually get 45% of his wage in pension. A exec that has been there 5 years gets 60%. It doesn't make any difference if he lost money for the company, he still gets his golden parachute! Bad business decision have caused a lot of the problems but it is easier to blame the workers and their benefits.

I am not sure what your question was? It appeared to be more of a protectionist statement. GM and the other big boys currently are hemmoraging because of ill fated retirement plans, loss of income, while expenses have soared. When the Car manufaturers were doing well,so were their workers. The cost per manhour to a union shop exceeds $100 per hour, China exceeds $1 a day - you do the math.

I guess your statement helped me realize why the philosophy of closing borders and cancelling trade deals scares the H.G.WELLS out of me.

Thank the Unions for raising prices and lowering quality. If American car makers would offer the quality, prices, and warranties of their Asian counterparts, this wouldn't be an issue.

You're retarded. I'd take a reliable Japanese car over a domestic broke down American piece of sh*t any day. It's a good thing Nissan is talking over. We really don't need anymore American crap cars wasting the earth's precious resources.

It's really far too late to worry about it. We are toast. When Asians get through with us, we will all be lost memories of another time.
