Isnt this a wee bit strange to good wholesome folk?

The daughters of Lot supposedly trick their father into having sex with both of them by getting him drunk twice.

(Gen 19:31-35 NRSV) And the firstborn said to the younger, "Our father is old, and there is not a man on earth to come in to us after the manner of all the world.

Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, so that we may preserve offspring through our father."

So they made their father drink wine that night; and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; he did not know when she lay down or when she rose.

On the next day, the firstborn said to the younger, "Look, I lay last night with my father; let us make him drink wine tonight also; then you go in and lie with him, so that we may preserve offspring through our father."

So they made their father drink wine that night also; and the younger rose, and lay with him; and he did not know when she lay down or when she rose.

Excuse me but if I'm so drunk that I wouldn't recognize my own daughters I don't think that my penis would be working to well either - this is a sick story about incest.

Why do people think of that each and every little thing in the Bible might desire to be the "real" determination or direction? people lived lots in a various way 3000 years in the past and we are in a position to benefit lots from those memories approximately morals and ethics. If we wrote on the subject of the Christian courting with Jesus on the instant, might we pass away out murders, rapes, incest, conflict, genocides? No? nicely the authors of the Bible writing on the subject of the Jews' courting with God did not the two. The Bible is composed of rules to guard the harmless with case regulation to be stumbled on in the Talmud. They lived in an extremely progressed society which presented protection for the harmless and the needy -- an amazing innovation for the time! .

I read this myself and rejected it as false. Lot (PBUH) was the Messanger of God and incest is not allowed at all. Qur'an has the lot story but no such story.

Unfortunately that was the custom of that time period.
While the Bible portrays it accurately it in no way approves it.
