I have my hair permed and it did make it more frizzy despite that not being the look I was going for. Most perms dry your hair out to at least some extent. I am not sure how much difference there is between brands but I do know that sometimes people get their hair burned off by the perm solution. You might also decide depending how often you curl and how well it holds. The very first time I tried it on my hair it fell out in a couple of days. My hair is also very long and thick and I had to train it to curl and then tried it several years later. It did hold pretty well this time but like I said it is drier and gets frizzier. I hope this helps.

If your hair is long, or too heavy a perm might not even last that long, because of the weight of your hair I too love the long curly locks. Its a tough decision but permed hair is so much nicer and easier (for me) to care for in the summer. If you really love the look go for a perm. If you aren't sure I'd wait. You can always blow dry your perm straight. Depends on how much you like it curly!
Good luck-I'm sure you'll be gorgeous no matter what you do!

a spiral perm would look great
it doesn't matter about the cheaper perm--the chemicals are all the same. it is the time the chemicals are left in the hair.
straight looks great too.
it will have to be your decision. it is your hair and you will have to live with it until it grows out or cut off.

Some straight hair is difficult to wave. Try a perm. Don't have to be expensive. If done properly it should look good. If for some reason it frizzes because chemicals can be harsh, it won't take for it to grow out, and you will be cack to normal.

Well, your hair still gets somewhat ruined when it gets in touch with chemical and permed solutions.
If you must, go to a reputable hair salon to get a best treatment of your hair with better quality of permed kits, performed by a skilled stylist instead. Never go cheap!

a loose curl perm would look nice. i don't know if the chemicals will weaken your hair though. My philosophy these days is to go natural with my hair since it's sorta thin anyway.

Perms are bad. Put your hair in curls or use a curling iron after putting product on your hair.

why is it people that have straight hair wants curls and people like me with curls want straight hair!! lol
why not just use your tongs and if it looks good get it done properly........ i wouldnt want a perm, even if my hair was straight to start with, perms are hassles and can dry out your ahir and make it frizzy....
but its totally up to you, your the one that has to look like it!!

I wouldn't do it. I had a perm before and hated it. My hair is long and straight. I get tons of compliments on it like it is. Plus you will get a lot of damage too!
