I don't know if this is serious or if you're investigating detection rates of virus softwares and how they work but when I use to research I'd usually download a few free P2P softwares that come bundled with trojans and a mass of malware for example Kazaa and Limewire.
Also you can search in google for cracks and just browse the websites - they download viruses to your PC - although don't download any cracks that's against the law. Also a search for 'free porn' will lead to sites that are infected and ready to attack your PC.
It would be best to browse these sites with no firewall up and through Internet Explorer.
Good luck - and only research if you know what you are doing.

If you want a computer virus, turn off all the firewall, spy ware and anti virus software on your computer and leave your computer connected, on line to the Internet and you will get a virus.
If it is another kind of virus you are seeking, you are on your own.

just keep a good antivirus software and keep it updated

well people create viruses to destroy PCs. But the question is why do u need a virus unless you want to send it to somebody

You easily get viruses when you visited sites that are unfamiliar and sites that contains things that are too good to be true, sample of these websites are pornsites, sites that have cracks, or sites that offer lots of files to download.
