Love can't be defined in one sentence. There are many kinds of love, for example, romantic love or Christian love. You don't love your mother the same way you love your spouse. You love your neighbor differently than you love your children.

Love is one of the greatest things in the universe as it encompasses so many levels of intensity ranging from infatuation, desire, and all things eros, all the way to an overwhelming, uncontrollable desire to do anything at all possible including laying down one's life to be near, protect, provide for, forgive, nurture, and treasure a person, place, or thing that holds a special place in our lives simply for the reason that we "have feelings for" or "love" said person, place, or thing on one of these levels, whether the love is transitory and in flux, or unconditional in nature.
