I have only son and he's suffering for almost 2 years of his age a block nose. I sent him to the Dr. & they already gave him medication (a nasal spray). My problem is, Do I need to spray his nose every time he had block nose? because he suffered almost everynight & I'm afraid that if I do the spray everynight maybe he will become addected to it, and that I don't want to get it happined. Pls. Help me?

maybe its not so much a blockage with anything like that, sounds like he might have problems with his adnoids, and that means he won't be able to breathe right out of nose or mouth....which can cause problems with hearing. It can cause snoring and sleep apnea...I would ask a doctor to take a better look at his adnoids...and if he don't think its that or doesn't do a proper check up, I'd get a second opinion.

Dont panic, just go to some ENT specialist to rule out some nasal deformity which you might not see. Such type of deformities need correction and they cant be cured by medicines. Medicines in such cases give only symptomatic relief. If u have already visited the specialist and there is no malformation then keep on using those drops, i hope it must be xylometazoline or oxymetazoline which is helpful and there is no addiction to it. so dont worry.

In addition to your doctors orders, try spraying his nose with saline nose spray and blowing it often. it is totally harmless and will help the mucus run out of his nose easier. if your doctor isn't solving the problem, take him to an Ears, Nose and Troat specialist. He may have large adenoids(my son is having his removed because he has hardly any space to breathe).

Use warm salt water and a Neti pot. they can be found in health food stores.

He may have food allergies that cause excess muscus build up; dairy, wheat, gluten.

Please stop giving him those drugs that are not working.
