For what reason? If dogs were meant to have pink fur, they would have been born like that. Don't do it....it's not fair to the dog and can only cause problems! What if the dog were allergic to the dye....and died. Now think about what is more important to you....pink fur or your dog's life. That should answer your question!

I saw this done on a white poodle with kool-aid used as temporary dye. It had multi-color effects, and I thought it looked
"interesting".
The Kool aid dye is harmless to the dog, but some people may
think you are "abusing the dog". Kelly Osbourne dyed her dog
with human hair dye and got PETA in an uproar...
KELLY'S PINK PUPPY
J.Lo can finally relax: PETA has a new target. The pro-animal rights organization is p.o.'d at Kelly Osbourne. The rock heiress recently dyed her English bulldog, Piglet, hot pink using human hair dye. "Dogs are not fashion accessories," PETA's rep barked to The Boston Herald. "It is very irresponsible to subject a 13-week-old puppy to chemicals that most people aren't willing to put on their heads." However, Kelly seemed unfazed by their gripes while visiting New York City last week, which culminated in a DJ set (along with '80s stars Boy George and Debbie Harry of Blondie) at Marquee yesterday evening. Unfortunately it was too dark in the club to see Piglet's new fur color. (Just kidding!)

Hmmm. That would make your dog an "accessory", something like a purse, or a pair of earrings, rather than a living creature.
If you use dye that isn't toxic to the dog, I'm sure it would be safe (although I doubt the dog would much like the dyeing procedure) -- but what does it say about the owner? That you're shallow, and view your companion as a toy, an accessory, a doll to dress up and play with until you're bored...not as another being worthy of some dignity.
Kinda seems that way to me.

It is bad on so many levels, and the sad thing is, you had to ask. Dye your self pink, at least you have the choice, your poor dog does not.

No...as long as he/she has light colored fur and you aren't going to bleach it or something. Try to use a dye that's edible or something. A local dog groomer could probably help you with that. Have fun, and good luck! Your dog will probably enjoy the attention.

This is a really insensitive thing to do to your dog or any other animal! Dogs are beautiful just as they are and are not intended to be some kind of accessory to your wardrobe.
