Well he borrowed a few of the sayings and the water walking technique. The rest was probably added after his death, especially since Buddhism was being taught in the area during the time when the Bible was being written.

Wow, Arewethereyet is really not that bright. Perhaps if she realized that Buddhism was around for centuries in India before it spread to the Middle-East and China along the Silk Road in the first century CE she may understand.

Now it truly is getting clearer. Buddha and Jesus have a similar using rigidity--the word, equivalent to Enoch, Elijah, John the Baptist, to call some. each and every had his own God's purpose in the international. Buddha opened the knowledge of Jesus in the course of the 18 years that Jesus disappeared from the Bible. (The lost Years of Jesus, by using Mark and Elizabeth Prophet). The word is interior the first financial disaster of John's Gospel. This word is in each and every guy. The word makes the adaptation between us and the dirt. regrettably, maximum human beings have lost the flexibility to pay interest from interior of. As Jesus suggested: "The Holy Spirit is like the wind, you do not the position it comes from, and also you do not the position it is going."

Plagiarize is a bit strong, but you are right in that he never actually revealed his sources.... or actually wrote anything down himself. (Other than to say it was the word of God)
Traditionally Christ is supposed to have studied in India. He doesn't appear until 30 years of age and is apparently a carpenter etc.
This legend (of him studying in the East) makes a lot of sense because the basic philosophy that he is talking and teaching about had been widely extant in India for about 500 years because of the work of Gautama Siddharta who extensively taught and wrote about it during his lifetime (approx between 563 and 483 BC.)
This spiritual philosophy had actually been around in the East well before the time of the Buddha,in fact it goes back over 10,000 years to the Veda or Vedic Hymns which are extensive written works, the earliest written works that exist in fact,on this subject. The Dhyana also predates the Buddha and comes from the same source of sacred law or knowledge.
The Veda, the Tao, the Dharma... all mean Knowing or Looking.

Since Jesus never met Buddha its highly doubtful. Unless Buddha claimed to be the Son of the Living God, and offered himself a sacrifice for the sins of mankind, its highly doubtful.

Unless Buddha taught in the Jewish temples, its highly doubtful. Unless Buddha healed the blind, the lame and raised the dead, its highly doubtful.

Nah - too many things count against it. And Jesus was a Jew and did his learning as a Jew with the extra bonus of God himself teaching Jesus. Buddha cant make the above claims.

No plagiarism involved, not even remotely.

OK...it was more like 550 (give or take 50) years before and not thousands. Speaking as a buddhist, lets not worry about who said what first...its not a contest. If Jesus makes you happy and feel the love, follow Jesus. For me its the Buddha, for others its Muhammad. There are many roads leading to peace...lets all get there alive!

lol at this answer....

"Well he borrowed a few of the sayings and the water walking technique. The rest was probably added after his death, especially since Buddhism was being taught in the area during the time when the Bible was being written"

Wouldn't that mean that Buddha plagiarized Jesus then? If Jesus came first?

lol

Nope.

An enlightened master, just sounds like an enlightened master.

This is what both of them were. This is why they sounded so much alike.

Being enlightened means reaching a level of understanding that is exactly synchronized with the thoughts of God.

This level of understanding leaves no room for deviation.

All masters speak with a single voice, the voice of the eternal consciousness.

Yes. He repeated the teachings of Buddhas. It's suspect he studied with some in his life to learn them. Of course, Buddha was the true Prince of Peace too.

Jesus said you have to stop sinning and follow the ten commandments so Jesus actually puts in a "tasker." Can you follow simple instructions? Do you want to improve yourself so that you can then follow simple instructions? Then Jesus might be for you.
