Not in Majors - the PGA still maintains many of the older (and classier) dress code traditions - Although, if you look at how Payne Stewart dressed, some might say shorts would be a better option. (Yet I don't want to see Jon Daily's legs in this or any other lifetime!)

No I just went to the Senior PGA outside of Detroit and one of the golfers had to quit the game because of the heat. Seems like they should allow shorts.

On any male professional golf tour shorts are not allowed. Only Caddies may wear shorts, and only at certain events

Yes, but they must be tailored shorts at all respectable golf courses. Dress code dictates that they must be knee length with socks almost to the knee. Therefore, in practice, there is little point. Football shorts and the like are forbidden..............

I have NEVER seen this in America. In Scotland, I'm sure they wear kilts when golfing.
