Im sure I've seen on Living TV's Most Haunted programme that Derbyshire is the most haunted place. I know that's a big area! Have a look on the Most Haunted website. They might have the answer on there.

Apparently York is the most haunted city in Britain with over 500 known sightings of ghosts.

Everything from Ghostly armies to crying children and nuns.

the website I've posted gives a list of at least 63 of these sightings!

They do do a ghost tour on Halloween if you're interested in visiting. I haven't been there myself yet, but it's on my list!

this is open to debate as lots of places claim to be. commonly named places are shrewsbury, surrey and york. as well as towns lots of buuildings claim the title ranging from pubs to castles. the problem is do you go by number of ghosts in area, number of sightings per ghost, ghosts per square mile etc. as ghosts are good for the tourist trade each place has its own way. when you investigate so called haunted places often its one guy saw something in 1975 and thats it the place is listed as haunted.
a good candidate is the devils chair in stiperstones, shropshire where all the ghosts in the country gather once a year for a meeting.

It was once said to be Borley Rectory - which burned down some years' ago - but now I'm not sure.

Ghosts are still said to be seen on the ruined site of the rectory.

I think London has its fair share of ghosts, though...

It's supposed to be a place in Suffolk called Borley. There used to be a Rectory there that had numerous tales. Google it.
