My bed has to stay on the wall it is on because of the paint job. I have been thinking of moving my desk to the side that my bed is on. Should I move my bed to the left towards the window. The problem with that is the window is centered, so it would end up that only the other end is the only part where you can see out of the window.

Well, without actually seeing your room, it's very difficult to say where you should put things.

The first thing I would consider though is what you're room is predominantly used for. If you just use it for sleeping and lounging around comfortably, then obviously the bed is going to be dominant and light is less of an issue. If you use your room a lot for studying and reading, then your desk will need to be just as dominant, and ensuring there is good light there will be important.

I agree with island3girl however when you draw out the shape of the room make everything to scale so that you get an accurate size of furniture, window, and desk.

Good luck

draw an outline of your room with the window, closets, doors, etc. then cut out pieces of paper representing the furniture and move it on the paper so you get an idea of how it would look (make sure they will fit by measuring before you start actually moving stuff).

I agree with your first answer, try to draw your room at scale and also your furniture and play with their placings on the drawing.
Also, try to create 'islands' in the room, taking into consideration their purpose and function(sleeping, writing, relaxing etc).

Think about putting things catty-corner. You may be able to move your bed afterall, just by moving it 45 degrees.

Nikki ( no relation) is correct.

Start with function, and then move the furniture to the places so that it serves the function best.
