The people in the US are the fattest people on earth. Why? Laziness. Not McDonalds, not Burger King, just plain laziness.

I remember a heavy (fat) friend saying to me once that his metabolism was different than mine...much slower...and so where I could keep from getting fat, there was no way he could. I asked him to join me over the next 30 days to eat and to exercise with me. Eat everything I ate, and only what I ate, and get the same exercise I did....which meant eating about 3500 calories or more a day...running 30+ miles a week, swimming about 8000m, biking close to 100 miles and lifting 2x a week for an hour+ each time. I made a huge bet that he would lose weight. In effect what he was saying was that his heavy body was more efficient than mine because he could eat and exercise like I could...and not lose a pound while doing it.

HA! We sure proved him wrong. He realized the fat had nothing to do with "metabolism" at all. It was from laziness. He had never ever in his life worked out so much. He also was actually eating MORE calories than before...and he LOST weight.

People CHOOSE what to put in their mouths. People CHOOSE to sit and watch TV rather than go for a run or bike ride.

and therefore....people CHOOSE to be fat and lazy....and Americans make that choice more than any other culture on earth.

and the first answer up there- that it is hereditary. Again, I say show me a person that claims heredity is making it IMPOSSIBLE for them to lose weight. Give them to me for a month or two. Have them live my lifestyle. I will bet any amount of money they will lose weight and get in better shape. And then out the window goes the "its heredity" argument. That person too will realize its not heredity...its laziness.

because of Mc Donalds!
People in America became lazy about making themselves food and they feed their children preprocessed high calorie and fatty foods and eat fast food at an alarming rate.

I live in America and I'm shocked at how many obese people there are. Sometimes I am so disgusted by some people I wonder how they can possibly stand themselves and how they have the stones to even walk out of the house like that-- something they must not do very often as they are too busy stuffing their faces with food.
I think we are bored and maybe spoiled in this country. We need to know there is more to life than where our next meal is coming from.
This country must have nothing else better to do and that is a shame.
When I got in shape, I was shocked that EVERYONE around me was fat or out of shape.
And you think that we are fat now? OH my god, with the next generation of fatties coming up,
there will be about 10 obese people for every one normal size person you see in about 20 years and almost zero in shape people.
But you know what? They don't live long. Maybe in 20 years when people are dropping like flies in their 30's, 40's, and 50's of obesity related illnesses, then perhaps we will change our ways.
But for now, fat people are on a mission to try to make it seem that they really aren't fat, everyone else is who is ideal weight is just too thin!!!!!!!

to many people now work in offices, set at computers all day and so many do not do any real hard labor.
sometimes over eating and when they do eat its fating foods. It's not just a USA problem, look at the world as a hold, many peoples are becoming fat for the same reasons

HAha it is sad isn't it? That is one of the only things I hate about the people here. The food is so cheap and the media hipes food up so much that is all people think about is food. I'm a little chubby. But I'm still safe! For now! It's hard living here!

We eat too much fast food. We are so bust doing what ever that it is easier to grab fast food and watch television play video games etc. then it is to plan healthy meals and exercise. Basically the American population has become very lazy. I can't forgot our love of soda.

All the fast food people eat, all the unhealthy food in restaurants, and most importantly, portions of food they serve.

Some are lazy, some it is hereditary.

so John your questions are about things you find distasteful in the US. Why do you bother to come here? Were you invited? If you don't like us, it's ok. We won't be offended. Most of the rest of the world doesn't much like us, they just want to be here and live here, and will risk their lives trying to get here.
