An excellent question. All this rhetoric about sin this and sin that is tiring. Something is either right or wrong, or neutral. "Sin" is a nonsense word.

The idea of 'God' punishing others to appease 'His' own wrath, which 'He' brought about in the first place, by sacrificing 'His' "son" is ludicrous. It's a gnarled-up ball of nonsense. Most of Christian belief **insults** God.

It's because when He created man He gave them all authority over the earth like a power of attorney and free will, when they sinned they turned it to Satan (now he had the legal right over the earth), and the only way to get it back legally was coming as a man (Jesus) and paying the price (he bailed us out) but you have to choose to accept Jesus sacrifice to get your sins erased, and your authority back if you do this you are free "from the law of sin and death" you can believe for healing, for God to provide for your needs, you give Him the right to act on the earth through your prayers, and much much more, God doesn't go against his Word, when he stablishes a principle, that's it, The commandments haven't changed, the law has because Jesus was the perfect and sufficient sacrifice to redeem man and the curse sin brings to the land. But that will change soon too when Jesus comes back He'll get rid of the devil, but he is so good and patient He wants more people to come to enjoy eternity with him. Now I'm a christian, and nobody can understand it all, and this might be a valid question, Why didn't God get rid of the devil before man sinned? Satan who was Lucifer and in high rank in heaven sinned or rebeled against God without any other devil (or being)tempting him right? So this could have been an option for man too without a temptor or evil one that ended up taking the rights over the earth. At the same time I think: But Lucifer didn't have a temptor and there was no chance to be redeemed he is doomed forever for what he did, so maybe that's the reason God planned it that way,.

A thinking christian and at the same time totally 101% sure that whatever the answers are knows that "God is Love"and "God is good".and loves me and you the same.

Problem is she can't erase what never existed.

Sin is nonsense that someone has convinced you is real. They did this to induce guilt because guilty people are easy to control.

I know because I used to believe in sin too. The first time someone questioned the reality of sin I thought they were insane. I eventually found that It only seems real until you actually start to question its reality. Then the whole idea falls apart. Try it if you are so sure it’s real.

I suggest you get a copy of the course in miracles. It points out the impossibility of the idea of sin better than anything else does.

The idea of sin was invented to induce guilt and make people believe in a judgmental God. God is only love He judges nothing.

The course pulls the sin rug out from under the whole idea, and the judgmental God fantasy simply falls apart.

Hi friend,
I am a Christian, and I have wondered over this as well. I believe that there is a pretty good answer for that. Sin can't just be erased, it can't go unpunished because that would make God a liar. God promises every man is accountable for his own life.
Therefore there had to be an atonement for sin- something to justify us. the problem is that someone sinful can't atone for their own sins. Therefore there had to be a perfect sacrifice. We couldn't do it- only God could. That's why He sent Jesus.
If He had simply erased sin, then He would be a liar.

Does that help?

Gutukembel,
Whether or not you know it, you are closer to the truth of God, than most of our religious leaders. Sometimes, He uses the least likely people, to get His message accross. God, can indeed forgive us for our poor choices and mistakes any time He wants to. The idea that He would require the horrible death of someone who loved Him, and never disobeyed His will, to make us acceptable, is a purely pagan concept. If you really want to know where this idea came from, study the Council of Nicea, in 325 A. D. If you study the Bible, you find that God is calling His children to Him in the Old Testament, with no mention of a perfect human sacrifice. How did Enoch, Elijah, and Moses enter His Kingdom without this sacrifice? Having said all that, God is VERY particular about who His children are. He knows our every thought and motive. Unless you become like a little child, and humble yourself before Him, and choose to do His will in your life, your personality will not survive this one life. Being religious will not help either. Jesus said that prostitutes and tax gatherers would enter the Kingdom before the religious hypocrites. The Kingdom of God is within you. If you ask Him to forgive you, and mean it, He will. Then He will send His Spirit into you, and bond with you. You then become a new creature, part mortal, part Immortal, and have entered the path of Immortality. It is, of course, your choice, since He gave us the priceless gift of free will. Choose wisely.

God doesn't have a son, he's the one and only GOD. what is he sacrificing?
if He wanted to erase all sin he can but if he did that all ppl will go to heaven. What He wants is that every person gets what he/she deserves....If you do bad things u go to hell and if u do good things u go to heaven, u have the choice

it's not that easy, God didn't put us in this world so that we can play and have fun and then all go to heaven

if u think carefully about the reason, then maybe u wouldn't have asked this question

....PEACE ALL......

because it is a myth. a myth oh so similar to greek myths of heracles and perseus. these greek saviours of humankind were the offspring of zeus and earth maidens.

cross the mediterranean and you've got the same kind of story, but now the off-spring is not only also god (a mystery!), God insists that the only way he will let humans into heaven, even tho he misses us so much and he is in charge and can do whatever he wants, is that we slaughter his son and slide into heaven on his son's blood. whew - isn't that stupid? when taken literally?

stupid, stupid, stupid. that's why it doesn't make any sense. because it is just myth. it is so utterly stupid it is breathtaking that anyone believes it. all these grownups wandering around acting like greek mythology is true. and yet not at all acting like christ asked them to. because it is so much harder to act like jesus suggested (the kingdom of heaven is within you, jesus said. i don't think we need his blood to get in there), millions of weak-minded individuals have been seduced by the dead religion Paul sold - do nothing different, but chant these words, and you're in heaven.

ugh. what a pitiful thing.

How childish and immature.

I guess you want to be a robot rather than having free will.

One thing God cannot create is true love. Even if He could it wouldn't be true love now would it.

Plus to defeat Satan, that is death, God paid the price for sin.

Heb 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

So now Satan can't say we deserve the same as his punishment, that is the second death non-existence.

Why do people open their mouth and remove all doubt?.

Study to show thyself approved.

Understand the following :- If there is bad then only Good has a value. Likewise +(plus) should follow - (minus), positive to negative, good to evil. All these have to be in balance and you have this world. can you imagine a world with only good things - how will you differentiate this good from other good. Try and divide Atom of its Electron and Proton and you get destruction. Moral of the story : you must have both and in balance.
