They work based on their local demographics to invest money in areas they feel their local populations need. Some things they have to commission based on Department of Health objectives, but others they can pick and choose with in terms of how they share out their big pot of money - into primary care, acute trusts, ambulance trusts, menta health trusts and so on.

right primary trust i will try to help this what happened to me twice
1st i had ingrowin toes nails really painful went toi drs about 3 yrs ago been in and out about them about month ago i got a letter rom the primary trust sayin as ive been unwell with them 4 long time and on a list (they look through files at the drs see whos been waitin long time who not been looked in to or reverd to the) they sort that out i went hos last wk now havein them off waited yrs but its happenin
2 bad tooth ache as all dentist now wnt see new nhs patints you have to ring nhs diert to try get a 1 day appointment well as im unwell can go out on own its hard 4 me to be able to get to apoint whats given to there and then as ppl work well 2 wks later still no go still bad toothache and i looked through the phone book primary helth trust i phoned explained got me a bookin at a jos that night to see a dentist the time i needed etc
they are there when no1basically listen to you
