He may not be gay. Just that, when you are in the shower, he gets his privacy to do his thing. He could do it in the washroom, behind closed doors, but who is to set rules as to where, when and how one masturbates.
Is he doing it by watching you? I doubt it. Gays don't pounce on the other guy. They know and recognize the response they receive from a like minded person and develop from there. They have this in them to "spot".
You are looking at it from the point of a hetero where, fantasizing the woman of your dreams is how you masterbate. So quit worrying.
Don't embarass him by referring to his masterbation. That's not how a classy person behaves. Just ignore it. It is just that, masterbation is common among men (it is healthy, actually) - why make a federal case out of it?
You should react adequately - (like telling him with a stern voice that you do not approve) - only if he makes advances to you that you do not like. It is simple, isn't it?
Fight? No. Children fight. But adults settle their differences by reasoning out.
FYI - I am not gay. I love women. Nothing in the world will make me more happy than to have sex with a beautiful girl / or pretty girls. I just can't get enough.

Well, you have some things to consider first, before you act on emotionalism alone:
1. Do you share an apartment/house where he is on a lease? If so, then he will be living there until the lease expires, because he has a right to. Any side agreements between you and him would have to be approved by the lessor, and I doubt he'd be too accommodating if you say, "Dude, you're gay...I'm uncomfortable...I need you to move...now."
2. Even if he is not on a lease per se, if he has been living there, he is legally considered a month to month tenant (if paying rent), so he can't kick him out for 30 days anyway.
Now, I like David's answer: if you can take him in a fight, then it's safe...LOL. Really, you shouldn't be so touchy. Maybe you're just sexy. Is his being gay the end of the world?

Yes he's gay. To make it worse for you since you're a man, he's attracted to you and that is why he masturbates when he sees you having a shower.
There's nothing harmful about staying in the same room with a gay. Just tell him you're not interested in him and most of all thank God is that you're not gay either and hopefully he'll understand.
Off course if I was you I wouldn't stay in the same room with a gay who's attracted to me, it's just odd/awkward.

"Several times"? After the first time you noticed, why would you not subsequently proceed to LOCK the bathroom door?
If you've let it happen, and multiple times, I'd say that you like being watched by ur roommate. If he's hot, why not invite him to the shower with you? HOT!

Unless it makes your skin peel off when he watches you, let him. It isn't hurting anyone and you should be flattered. GET OVER IT! And what the F*CK does "is he safe to share a room with" mean? Do you have some childish belief that gay guys are insane rapist stalkers? Oh wait, I thought they were all limp-wristed sissies, so you shouldn't have any trouble fighting him off. Get your stereotypes consistent at least!

It is not a mater of whether or not the roomate is Gay? Do you have a problem with his behavior? You need to confront him about the behavior and use " I " messages and explain how u feel when he does this behavior and share your concerns and keep it real, remember " silence gives consent"

He is probably gay. But why do you think he would rape you? I mean, he is GAY, not a rapist!
However, I would talk to him about it if I were you. I would want womeone looking at me while I'm taking a shower. Or just close the door if you don't want to talk about it.

It's very likely that your roommate IS gay. You may try to approach him with some photos from the Playboy or Penthouse and see his (biological) reaction. You may find out about his sexual preference that way. Good luck!

If you can take him in a fight, then I would say its safe. If he is bigger than you, then, I would consider finding another roomie, and if he is huge, just give up the pad before he decides to join you in the shower.
