Okay, since I been informed about the possibility of cancer, I been 'freakin out' about the way I live. I dont know whether or not to turn into a ''health nut", trying to take all precautions necessary to add more time and health to my life, Or is it too stressful to live like that, and maybe I should just relax and believe that we all have a "time" and theres nothing we can do to add more time to our lives.
Do you really believe that you wont go before your time? Or that peoples live are actually cut short because of unhealthy decisions? I want to know if other people worrry that their decisions really affect their life spans, or are our number of days here already pre-set?

I believe that we cut our lives short by the decisions we make. But there is no need to go overboard about worrying over health. Just read up on how to have a generally healthy life style and ofcourse quit the things you know are bad, like smoking excessive drinking, fast food every day. I am very sorry for what you are going threw. I hope that it is just a scare and it will help you to change your lifestyle and live a long and healthy life.

I have lived my life to the absolute fullest!

Here s just a very brief over view of what I have done in my life time so far.

Abused for the first 12 years of my life at home and at school.

Left school at 16, started working 7 days a week

Started using drugs at 17 ( pot, heroin, speed, LSD)

Father and mother both died early in my life.

Changed jobs many times and worked as, assistant manager, truck driver, bobcat operator, store person, technician, the list goes on over my life time,

Started breaking the law in a big way doing stupid sh*t.

At 30 went to jail for the first time, have been back a couple of times since for a total of about 7 years all together.

Have lost everything that was close or important to me except my life and sometimes I wonder how I didn't also loose that when I look at some of the things I have done or that have happened to me.

Look basically I have been lucky or unlucky enough to have had a lot of experience in many different styles of life styles, I have lived in many places and have had lots and lots of money, have also wasted lots and lots of money, probably about 3 million dollars over the years.

Now what do I have? Well I have my life still and I have my unit, I have a few other things but I don't have real happiness which for me would be having my family back.

I guess people need to make decissions in their lives where they can acept that they may end up loosing everything and then when they do, not blame everyone else for what has happened.
No I didn't do that I know that everything I have lost is my own fault and I also know that as long as I work hard and look after myself I will one day have everything I used to have again.

So go have fun if you want but remember everything you do will always be with you for the rest of your life, and it will come back to bite you on the ars* right when you least need it to.

You can live longer if you take care of your body. It is not too stressful to live like that - many people enjoy living a healthy lifestyle. People's lives ARE cut short by living unhealthy lifestyles - that has been well documented.

Check out the following website for some really good health tips. There are several sections on there that deal with health. Also, if you want to know about a nutritional plan that has been proven to put cancer into remission, contact me and I will see if I can find the info on it for you.

Is your possibility of cancer based off of genes, or is it your lifestyle? Me, personally, I wouldn't stress over the possibility of cancer. Assuming because you posted this in the "Religion and Spirituality" section, I'd thought I'd give a few words of wisdom from the Bible. Proverbs 18:21 talks about life and death being in the power of the tongue. Understand that you won't get cancer. Speak it. I would say "believe" that you won't, but I want you to have full utmost confidence that it won't happen. Lifestyle does determine lifespan. Look at most smokers and obese people, for a blunt example. Many would've died alot later had they not smoke or weren't as overweight. If cancer could be based off of your lifestyle, I'd reccomend just eating more foliage and greenery with your diet, drinking more water, and exercising more. I still eat fast food and will pig out, but I constantly exercise or try and stay active, and I have a salad and drink a lot of water everyday, and my body is quite cut and well defined and I am in great shape. :)

The first answer you received gave some good advice.

I would also add, don't become any kind of nut!

Take care of your health, but not by sacrificing your enjoyment of life. We can of course effect when and how we are going to die by our actions/decisions, but stressing about every little thing will kill you too (remember stress is the number one killer).

I believe it was Buddha that said:
"If there is a solution to the problem then why worry. If there is no solution, then worrying will do no good."

That is a very good but difficult question to answer. I think that we have certain paths that we are meant to go down, but that stumbling on those paths could change things a bit. I dont think freaking out is going to help your sanity or health, but I know that is easier said than done. I participated in a great group called called chemoangels, it was a nice way to do something for people with cancer and anonymously but it also educated me of the values and treasures of life. I think these are some of the bravest and kindest people I have encountered and they have touched many, I think if I could say that about myself I would die happy at any time. Check out the site hon. www.chemoangels.com and good luck!!!

i'll tell you this: if our lives were predetermined, this existence would give jeopardy a run for its money. i imagine god would have incinerated the universe out of sheer boredom. "i'll take lemmings for 100, alex." but honestly, for you: i strongly believe that you should live everyday catering to your will. it is what the rich, the starving, and the managing-till-next-paycheck all have in common. we OWN our own will. take a real good look at what you feel is important or vital to your own existence, and be DETERMINED to sustain (and eventually, maximize) those simple bear neccessities. by the way, jungle book freaking rocks. but on a serious note, one more question before i leave you: if indeed life would find a way to take you at such an appointed time, would you rather be struck by lightning while dancing in the rain with the ones you love, or eaten alive by rats as you sat cowering away in the recesses of your attic? personally, i hate my attic. and i love dancing in the rain...

Being a health nut is a pleasant thing. Exercise is wonderfully addictive. Taking vitamins, eating right, taking care of yourself will make you feel good. Everyone should want to feel their very best. You think better, live longer and enjoy life so much more.

I believe that we should take repsonsibility for our bodies, and look after them. As a Chrisitian, we are told from the Bible that our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. We need to respect our bodies, on the other hand, the Bible also says there is a time to be born and a time to die.

Read Psalm 139, this might help you!

Stay calm. Easy for me to say huh.

Take care of your body within reason. Get lots of rest and eat healthy, but don't cut out everything thats fun.

No treats or fun can make nice ladys into grumpy ladys. Trust that What is happening is a part of Gods plan for you and that there is something in it that can show you something important that you need to know.

Remember that you are a part of God and that God loves you very much. Remember that us other parts of God love you very much too.

Think positive and take care.

Love and blessings
Don
