Since the Friend's and Joey's content is more adult based than 11 yr. old based I'd probably suggest watching a show that's more made for that age group rather than telling her she can't watch those 2 shows 'cause you know how kids get when they can't have what they think they want!
Maybe you can watch the other shows with her and show her that you enjoy it so it's not like it's a kiddies show or anything like that.
Whatever you do, I wouldn't recommend telling her she can't watch it 'cause that'll only making watching it some sort of illicit pleasure. Just distract her with other shows. Three episodes aren't enough to have her hooked yet.
Good luck!

Hey, dont worry about it! I think friends is a very funny show. I watched a show called Red Dwarf (its a British comedy show)when I was about 8, its just a phase. Ask her what she thinks of the programme and ask if little girls like her should be watching! and if she responds with the answer youre looking for (i.e. no, its not for little girls) then tell her she should not watch it. If she knows your secrets, then dont force it on her to stop watching, after all, its a natural thing! if you tell your sister she cant watch it, it'll drive her more into WANTING to watch it. As long as you dont make a big deal, you'll be ok. contact me with what happens!
Hope everything goes well!

Maybe you should just explain to her that those showes are not for her age, Try taking her to the movies or do fun things with her to keep her mind off of those showes. And By telling her those things you don't want your parents to know are influncing her to do those type of things. Tell her things that wont get you in trouble but will make her feel like she is your best friend. It will work I have A 11 year old brother

Good luck trying to tell your 11 year old sister anything that will make sense. Try to explain that your parents would not let her see it when they are there, that she should not watch it when they are not there.
Perhaps you could find a different activity to do when these shows are on so as to occupy her time in another way.....sports, games, reading, homework, yard work, chores.......think about it.

Apart from some slight sexual innuendos, Friends and its spin off are relatively harmless. You guys probably hear a lot worse just hanging out at school or with your friends.
Now, if your parents have a T.V. ban in place in your home, then she's just breaking the rules. Tell me one person who hasn't broken parental rules some, if not all, of the time ?
Chill out. I would worry more if it was porn.

Do your parents know?
If they don't approve of it, let them talk to her.
If they don't know she watches it, tell them and explain your concern over the adult themes and innuendos.
If they don't care what she watches, you really can't do anything about it. Your sister probably doesn't fully understand the hidden sexual tones in some of the discussions or events in the show, so she should be okay.

Whats wrong with the show "FRIENDS". Thats one of the best shows on t.v. They don't cuss on it, so whats the big deal? She's 11, let your parents handle it.
