You could buy an EXTREMELY long drill bit and bore a hole through (very carefully as the cheese straw will be brittle) the center of the cheese straw. If the drill bit doesn't work you could try picking out the center with a narrow bamboo skewer or something similar.
Put just about an inch of the straw into a glass of tomato juice (Clamato for the more adventurous palate) Pull it out again and bite off the end. Repeat until the cheese straw is gone...
