I don't get that either. I am actually not an Atheist (agnostic) but I'm not a fan of religion. And for the last FRICKIN time, ATHEISM IS NOT A FRIGGIN' RELIGION!!! It is a total lack of one.
Hate?! I don't get that? Anger, yes, because religious people make up stuff about Atheists. They simply do not understand and refuse to.
I don't think some Christians know the meaning of hate. The reason why Atheists and Agnostics shy away from religion is for that very same reason. We see the hate and intolerance that religious people have for gay people, for those of other religions, starting religious wars, etc.
Never mind that Christians claim that they're not supposed to hate anyone.. tell that to my parents who are supposedly nice people. But if they knew someone who was gay, they said they would not speak to them. They say they are not hating the person, they just don't feel they need to get mixed up with someone who is so screwed up. Tell me what the difference is between that and hate? Nothing.
Atheist want PEACE and freedom from stupidity. I am tired of religious people witnessing to me. Christians: think of it like this. If Tom Cruise was in your face every single day trying to get you to be a Scientologist or Jehovah's Witnesses were knocking on your door every day.. you'd be pretty ticked too. If Atheists (who are very nice people) show any anger, it's in the form of annoyance. And they certainly do not go around trying to deconvert people. They are merely enjoying their lives and wish religious people chill out and leave them the heck alone.

It is true that there is an inherent hatred in atheism against religion. And it is a hypocrisy, because atheism is a religion. You should not have said "All religion is ridiculous" because you deride your own beliefs. And I can assure you, as a Christian, I do not at all feel threatened by what you have said, say, or believe. I used to be an atheist. It is good that I am not one anymore.

I don't feel threatened, I feel pity for them. I the don't believe in any god that's fine, but why do the insist that believers are morons? Don't they know we view their lack of belief the same way? And yet I don't see a bunch of religious people asking questions like "Why are atheists such morons?"

Umm, no
And btw, it is not that we feel threatened by your belief, we are hurt by your continual ridicule. But it is okay, the mature ones here understand that hurting people hurt other people.
So, I'm sorry for your pain.

Very amusing. But I don't try to convert or de-convert or even subvert others to my point of view. It is mine and I am entitled to it just as much as you are entitled to yours.
