Somehow many people assume being an atheist is being immune to ignorance. For this I think we need an atheist church where knowledgable and wise atheist teach new believers. Here are the dumb things low-thinking atheist need correcting on.
1) Religion is the cause of all wars.
- Yea this would be true except for those minor things like world war I, world war II, civil war, vietnam war, korean war, etc.
- Most so called religious wars anyway are led and conducted by leaders who could care less about a religion but want power and money.
2) No religion and there will be world peace.
- 99.9% of convicts and prisoners arent locked up because they did a religious crime. Greed, fighting, sexual lust are elements of human nature that wont go away no matter how atheistic a society is.

3) Religion is something for ignorant people scared of life and needing to be led.
- Some if not most of the greatest inventors and scientist and artists and writers in earths history were men and women with religious convictions.
- Most of the great men who framed the constitution of this great nation were far from ignorant and they were religious pious men.
So yes it is possible to be an ignorant atheist. If you are going to be an atheist at lease be a sensible one and not base it around dumb assumptions and stereotypes. Thats where I think the church of atheism can step in. You guys can meet online and elect a spokeman.

A church is a group of people meeting for a common purpose. A church could be a group of ice tea makers, or a soccer group or any other group of people meeting together for a common purpose. Now if you would like to make a church of atheist then go for it. If you don't believe in God then it doesn't matter and it shouldn't. Now your idea that Greed, Lust, fighting won't go away no matter how atheistic society is, is true because people are drawn to self indulgence and their will. If you decide to follow God truly though you will be able to deny yourself of those things that are not beneficial to you or anyone else. Following God doesn't mean doing whatever you want, it means denying yourself and being obedeint to God's will and not your own, therefore if you or anyone else choses to truly follow God then religion wouldnot be such a discuss to onlookers and seekers. No one is perfect but that is why Jesus died to give us the opportunity to repent and change. The problem with religious society is that people don't understands God's grace or what Godly sorrow vs. worldly sorrow means. Now none of this will not make a bit of difference to you because if you don't beleive in God then you don't beleive in satan, so feel free to do your will because God gave you the power to do that. The bible say everything is permissible but not everything is beneficial. The people of the world live their life on what is permissible and not on what is beneficail, unfortunately most religious people do this also so, I understand why there are confusion and anger towards God. God is not the problem however it is people who choses to bend the scriptures and only take from it what fits into their lives. I think it is an absolute waste of time, because what is the point. It is simple hypocritical so the world will always be confuse and be angry at people who hurt while claiming to love God and claiming that they are doing his will. Hmmmmmmm

Atheism isn't a religion and doesn't have teachings as such, there is an online constituency called The Brights, it's an umbrella group for atheists, agnostics, humanists, freethinkers etc and anyone else who holds a naturalistic worldview that does not include things mystical or superstitious.
Many of the people who belong to The Brights will also belong to their own specific groups, the humanists, freethinkers and secular societies etc.

1a. World War I: Serbian hostility to Austro-Hungarian control over their lands was largely based on differing religious viewpoints.
1b. World War II: Hitler used religion, alongside race, as the basis of his campaign against Jews, didn't he?
1c. Civil War: largely based on differet interpretations of the 'Christian' view of slavery.
1d. Vietnam War: largely the result of French colonial policy - which was partly based on Christian missionary logic.
1e. Korean War: okay, fine.
1f. That's just not true.
2. I don't even know what a 'religious crime' is but the percentage of Christians in prison in the USA is higher than in normal society - not that I'm implying anything by that.
3a. Until recently heresy was a crime throughout Europe. You can make no claims about the religious persuasion of a person in a country where people are _forced_ by law (or else society-at-large) to commit to Christianity.
3b. Actually a very large number of them were deists, who cannot be described as 'religious'.

That, is a rediculous idea. It's a contradiction... I am an atheist and I acknowledge that religion is often a key factor in conflict, but I by no means consider it the cause of ALL wars. Consequently, the whole idea of eliminating religion resulting in world peace is rediculous, as there will always be other sources of conflict. Suggesting a church for atheists is ludicrous... the whole idea is that we don't confine ourselves to churches as religious people do... we think for ourselves.

There are many great things that church does. It fosters a sense of community and builds a nurturing environment to grow in, it celebrates the milestones of life, etc. So yes, believe there needs to be some kind of church like entity. Just without all the supernatural mumbo jumbo.
here is an example:

I haven't found it true that any significant portion of atheists believe that. I see a straw man. 1. Religion is the cause of [ALL] wars? No, many see the truth that religion is "a large factor" in "many" wars. Including, by the way, several wars that you listed. Yeah, that's a straw man alright. I'm not sure if you did it on purpose or not, but there he is, nevertheless, off to see the Wizard in search of a brain.

I don't think "church" is the right word. According to the Meriam Webster Dictionary a Church in the noun form is :
a building for public and especially Christian worship
2 : the clergy or officialdom of a religious body
3 often capitalized : a body or organization of religious believers: as a : the whole body of Christians
The word "church" is not right term.

1) WWI,WWII and those other wars on your question are MAJOR WARS! Crusades killed less ppl than the Civil War!
2) No religion and there would be no morals! How would you know good from evil? Would I get to kill everyone if there's no moral values? There would be alot more ppl committing crimes.
There shouldn't be an aethiest church. The school is already an aethiests church. They already teach evolution, an aethiest topic that tells kids that they come from dust, in schools.

mmmm religion is not a coz of war it creats a path 4 us but the main coz of war is the ppl who dont know the meaning of religion or u can say that they didnt know abut a true way AND as far as hatered is concerned b/w ppl of diff religious group it is jus bcoz of following reasons:- A)they always super imposing there religion. B)and trying to dominate other religions. I think by avoiding these 2 factors we can crate a better way for humanity and spirituality.

The point of being an atheist is that you don't go to church and do not wish to associate with other people for religious purposes. So an atheist church is a bit of a contradiction in terms...Otherwise, we're talking religious sect, not atheists...
