I recently veiwed my MN. driving record and was completely surprised. Honestly, I'm no angel. I had some wild younger years but mellowed with the coming of my childern. I looked at my record because 9yrs. ago I was charged with 3 D.U.I.s in 9mos. 1 of which I had plead down to driving without a license. But when I went to get my license back the state made me jump the hoops of someone with 3. I'm not saying they shouldn't have. I was just curious how it read on my record. I was completely supprised when I got 4 pages of stuff. There was suspect to assualts, suspect to robbery, wittness to assualt, wittness to accident etc.. Some of these things I knew the inncident they refered to. Many I had no idea. In any I was never questioned, charged, or convicted of them in any case. Most of them I didn't even know what they were talking about. How can this be legal? Innocent till proven guilty my eye. Is this not profiling?

Well, I think you may have a combination of two things going on here. First, I agree you did not get just your driver's license record. What I see you quoting there is more of a criminal record -- I see them all the time on my job and that's exactly how they read.

Now, the scarier part. Did you get this information using just your name or also your social security number? Because either you got someone else's information -- someone else may be using your name and information. You need to find out which this is and clear it up, obviously.

Finally, if this last part is not the case and all this really IS on your record, you might want to talk to someone at the DAG's office and find out why and what, if anything, can be done about getting it off of there, especially if you have no convictions. Or at least have it explained to you so you understand exactly what is really going on.

Sounds like the DMV is just like the IRS when it comes to these things: guilty until you can prove you are innocent. As for some of the apparent errors it could be like what happens to credit reports from time to time: you get someone else's info on your name. There may be other people running around with exactly the same name as you and the items you do not recognize may have come from them. You should investigate this with that thought in mind.

One year when I got the new phone book I discovered that there were two other people in the county I live in with exactly the same name as me. This was an advantage actually, because then I could say "It was them, not me, that did it."

You driving record did not report anything about assaults, robbery, or anything of the sort.

The only things not related to driving is a suspension for non-payment of child support.

You must be looking at something other than a DL report.

Also, the only things that appear are things that involve YOU, not anyone else.
