Japan's military is pretty much limited to self defense. The US have bases all over Japan. The US could remove Japan from the Atlas. They are our Allies, so I don't understand where this question is coming from.

U.S.A. is more powerful only because we control the water, we signed a treaty with Japan a long time ago and passed that Japan was no longer able to have a Navy, whereas we have the largest Naval fleet in the world. We also have a more massive army and military, so Japan would have no chance against us. Then again with all the treaties around the world, if we break one.. then the world goes into another world war...

You must be joking!!!!!!

The only REAL armed forces in Japan are the American ones! The only weapons of mass destruction here are American too!!!

For Japan to use nuclear weapons on America, two things would have to happen -
1. America would have to HAVE nuclear weapons in Japan, admit it, AND tell Japanese people where they are ... and the codes for using them!
2. The Japanese people would then need to have a complete civil uprising - mob rule! THEN maybe a weapon might be fired at America - EXCEPT that any nuclear weapons America might HAVE here in Japan would be shorter range, designed for use against North Korea or China in emergencies! So they wouldn't REACH America anyway...!

Perhaps you think that Japan might kick out the Americans, and then spend a few years developing WMD, all without interference from America, and then just use them on the USA without anything being done to stop it ..??? That's NEVER going to happen - forget it! If you're losing sleep, there's no need to worry!

Japan has a limited military. They are protected by defense treaties with the United States.

However, it's very unlikely that the US and Japan will come in to armed conflict anytime in the near future.

It's an irrelevant question. We wouldn't go to war with Japan. Why would we go to war with a country that's allowing us to have numerous military bases in their country??? And in the case that Japan were to attack us... that wouldn't happen either... they still remember how their asses got handed to them at the end of WWII.

it would most likely be a draw because i dont think the USA would leave an attack such as that unretaliated and would fire in return. Japan would have to fire several nukes to clear the USA off the map where as the USA would require less payload to destruct Japan.......just free thought on the situation you pose but im not 100% for sure.

JAPAN. USA strategies and plans usually are only in order for a president top get re-elected. Japan plans hundreds of years in advance.

It is a loose-loose combination. Who know, and who want to know what would happen. Though U.S.A is heavily equipped with arms, both nuclear and conventional.
