I think they're lovely animals. I'm proud and happy to share DNA with primates.
I ask because I think that one main reason why a lot of people are uncomfortable with evolution is simple maimouphobia... They seem to say 'Monkeys? Ick! How can we have evolved from (ed. note: 'alongside') monkeys?'
One reason I like evolution is that I like monkeys.
Any thoughts?

when was the last time you ask one out to lunch ? you could take one to the movies while your at it . and then you can tell the monkey how one day it will be a human , because if you came from a monkey then you know that there has still got to be monkeys turning into humans and then after that you two can walk hand in hand into the sunset.

People are uncomfortable with evolution because they are ignorant of the methods and logical underpinnings of science.
If I recall correctly, chimpanzees are our closest genetic relatives: 98% matching code.
