One says : remove all religion and replace it with people's personal spirituality and then make them mind their own damb business. DOWN with organized religion. That is causing all hatred and wars.
If all religion leaders are just trying to spread hatred instead of Love and respect for humanity. Then to save life of innocent people & for a better world we should put every effort to create secular society .

If we could all agree to a secular society a great many problems will be solved, and we would be free to make so much progress.

Religion stifles knowledge and attacks science because it fears that we will realize the truth about the world and if that happens, the church would lose power.

It's all a power play to them. Lets take control of our own lives for a change.

The Communists like the former Soviet Union banned all organised religion and replaced it the resulting vacuum with .......nothing. Theresult, they destroyed themselves culturally, economically and socially. Romania is full of child prostitues and drug addicts. Russia even today is an anarchyin many ways. Everything is for sale there. Every man and woman has a price - and it is quite low !

If we take away religion we have to replace it with something.

Europe today is desperately trying to proove its secular credentials. Europe cannot officially promote Christianity especially as it prepares to accept Turkey in the Union. The risk is you if you let Christianity die then Islam will take over. In Islam as you know that Shias are busy killing their fellow Muslims the Sunnis and vice versa - see Pakistan and Iraq.

The problem with religions is the belief that mine is the correct one while yours is wrong.

There are many who say that the problem is built into each human, the hatred, suspicion, fear and plain selfishness are at the heart of human conflict. If you don't have a religious reason to kill your neigbour you will find another non religious reason.

So do not ban religion. Find a new teaching which preaches "humanism" namely that self-sacrifice and love of fellow humans must be the centre of all human existence. Without this we are no different from animals.

Although I am quite religious, I think you're right! Simply because they don't think like I do!
However, how do you make people more spiritual without a higher cause?
I think our society, as it has got less religious, is more bound by selfishness and crime than ever before. And stupidity. I don't think religion should take the blame for everything that goes wrong on this planet. There are, and I know this might come as a surprise, many religious people who are well balanced, thoughtful, kind and try to live by their beliefs. Certainly, I think communism is a good example of how it all went wrong! A pity as I have some red tendencies.

Secularism is the only way to have a truly fair society. Trouble is there a 2 ways to implement secularism. One way discounts religion entirely, the other tries to respect the different religions. In the UK at the moment, our pointless government trips over it's own namby-pamby, mealy-mouthed attempts at political correctness, the result has been a constant flood of legislation attempting to pander to the 'rights' of various religious organisations, which causes even more divisions as there are more religious organisations than you can shake a shitty stick at. This I believe, is the beginning of the end of secularism in the UK. To be truly secular, legislation should only concern itself with the rights of the individual (and commercial legislation as an extension of individual rights).

I dont tend to think so.
If Yahweh the Elohim created us, then only his principles will work.
Communism was a great idea
but where is it today?

Thats becasue people are inherently selfish
and only Yahweh's principle of regeneration will work
if people rebel against it, they'll destroy themselves.
