Im flying to Greece next week for a holiday. But the problem is that im TERRIBLY afraid of flying! Can you suggest ways to "survive" the flight? Ive already flown once, but it was horrible! I was pale and trembling all the time and i wasnt able to talk. My mother had to hold my hand during the whole journey. I dont want to use medicine or alcohol. I know that flying is completely safe and there is much higher probablility that i will die in car accident, but it doesnt make a difference in my feelings. Do you have any suggestions? Some natural ways to reduce stress?

I wish u had more time but the goal is to desensizitize yourself slowly. For example, go the airport and watch planes land and take off for an hr. seeing how none of them crash. 2. next pretend your waiting to board at empty runway door and then try around with people. Ask someone if u can walk down the hallway to a plane after evryone boards. This will ease your fear of tight spaces. Finally, when on the plane put in ear plugs and close ur eyes and think of the greek beaches, weather, and the site of sundown on Mykanos!

Depending upon your age, I suggest having one alcoholic drink per 2 hours while flying.

Or, you could use dramamine.

Or, you could stay up for at least 20 hours before you flight, so that you pass out on the flight.

take a jet lag pill upon boarding the plane and sleep through the flight
