If she still takes a day time nap, you could try reducing that, or cutting it out altogether.
Before bedtime, try and keep her calm, and stop her getting to lively.

If she still gets up early, and seems well rested during the day - you might just have to accept the fact that she probably does not need that much sleep. The amount you need to sleep varies from person to person.

I know it is important to have a bit of the evening to yourself, so you might want to look at ways of keeping her quiet and entertained for a few hours in the evening, because - one thing you can't do is make someone sleep.

I remember my parents insisting I was in bed at 7pm every night, and spending many an hour lying in bed looking at the ceiling - looking back, I think that time would have been much better spent drawing or reading!

on the tv show "supernanny" it says to keep putting the child back in their room no matter how long it takes. because you have have let this go on for 5 yr already. so the child will scream and throw a fit.
but keep putting child in room till it works. and it will after a while.
get the child outside to do things also. getting her tired for the night.
and give her a bath around 7pm. lavendar soap is calming .
start at 7pm and get a routine to show what to do before bed then after its all done, the child knows it is bed.
try the bath, either you read or she reads to you and then lights out.
it will take 1 or 2 weeks to get the routine to work. so the child understands this is a new way you(as the parent) is bedtime.

if you dont and you give in to her, she will not get up when she needs to go to school and as the child gets older, work .
so start tonight, with the new routine. and be persistant and dont let the child TELL you what will happen, you make it happen.

Make the house quiet put her in bed and tell her a story, stay with her till she falls asleep at first. Do not make a noise later, she wonn't sleep when the T.v is on and everybody else is watching!
