Driving through rural France, I am awe-struck by the beauty of vast sunflower fields. But it got me thinking... how many of them would you need to make a litre of sunflower oil? I'd like to be able to calculate how many bottles of oil one of these fields could represent.

Yes, ok, to be specific, I mean seeds, but as they belong to the sunflower, it's the same thing! And I only want an average number, as I realise sunflowers vary in size, and therefore number of seeds...

Well, while the number of sunflower seeds is variable, it takes between four and five kilograms of sunflower seeds to make a liter of sunflower seed oil.

Here's a fun fact I know that this article reminded me of: How many peanuts, on average, are used to make a pound of peanut butter?

Answer: 762.

All Sunflower Oil are moxed with Parafin wax from Crude oil.. Pl dont use Sunflower Oil

thats like asking how many olives it takes to make a quart of oil or how many grapes it takes to make a glass of juice or wine.there is no formula to calculate.i would say that an average sunflower would make a teaspoon of oil but the flowers are so many sizes and the smaller one is the less seeds it produces.

Well none . sunflowers aren't used to make sunflower oil , its the sunflowers seed tats used to make da oil . so technically the ques shld be tat how many seeds shld be squeezed to get a litre of oil .
