I know there are more popular recent singers in the USA but, as the question( which is not asked correctly ) its "who" not "what's" the most popular singer in America? BARF BROOKS is not even close...his mother sells t-shirts at his concerts.

Isn't Garth Brooks the highest selling singer in the US. I rememeber reading that he sold more records than Madonna and Michael Jackson put together. That may have been some time ago though.
